How much does your hair cost?

When you go to the hairdressers what do you usually have done and how much does your hair cost? do you usually have a good experience at the hair dressers?

For me I always just have a dry cut, shaved number 4 back and sides and cut short on top and it costs me a ridiculous £7.50.
They usually bodge up even a simple dry cut like that, I don't like too much off the top and fringe but they don't listen and cut it too short.

I pay $16 + tip for a dry cut at a nearby hair salon. I used to go to the supercuts in the same strip mall but I've gone to this new place since they closed a couple years ago. I almost always have the same guy, Ed, and he does nice work.

It's either been long needing the occasional trim which I can handle myself, short and needs styling which I can do quite nicely, or shaved.. even easier..

If anything my hairs made me money as I've sold it more than once.

I used to be a hairstylist. Some are good. Some are bad.

My haircut costs my $50 including shampoo, conditioner, and a style afterwards, taxes and tip. I go to the same hairstylist every time and she does a great job

Mind you, I only get haircuts twice a year

Haircut 2-3 times a year at around $12 (I just get it shaved all off - I should invest in an electric trimmer and do it myself.)

Bottle of shampoo every 2 or 3 months at around $3.

Hair brush every few years at around $5.

Not much, not much at all.

One of my neighbors runs a hair cutting business in her basement and I just go there once every couple of months. I can't remember how much it costs off the top of my head, I think it's around $12.

Correct - the lower the number, the shorter. number 1 is basically skinhead - nothing but stubble. It goes up to (I believe) 7.

It goes up to 7? then why the hell am I asking for number 4. I thought 4 was the highest number.

It used to be, some years ago. They now make 'longer' clips for them - I get number 5, there's definitely number 6, and I think there's a 7 as well.

Number four is the longest brush cut. Number 5, 6 and 7 are good blending tools, but if you want your hair that length, it's best to have the hairdresser cut it that short with scissors and comb, because the hair 'slips' out of the 5, 6, and 7 and therefore is not even.

I haven't paid for more than a handful of haircuts the last few years. I generally just clipper it myself. gotten very good at fading from a 1 on the sides to a 4 or so on top.
