I mentioned a while back that I was gonna really get a haircut. Last week I did:

5 inches!

I got a foot cut off about two years ago. And then, after a couple years of fairly regular trims, I got six inches taken off about a month ago. I'm enjoying having it shorter, but the important thing to remember is that if you don't, it grows back. But yours looks really nice.

On the other hand, just smiling and "ooooeeerrrrr"ing has no chance for failure. You could ask a (perhaps overcomplicated) question and have him ignore it in favor of answering some imagined alternative one on a similar topic. I think people like him get so many of the same questions they tend to just keep 25 memorized responses handy to respond to any question in that sort of situation, as he wasn't the only person I've experienced this with. Can't really blame him, but it was a bit disappointing to be brushed aside with a canned answer.

It's quite an embarrassing situation for both parties I think. I really wanted to say something about his character in the play but as soon as he came out I was just star-trek-struck ~ which I never thought I'd be ~ and could only think OMG it's Jean-Luc. Probably best just to have stuck with "ooooeeerrrrr"
That's the thing about meeting your 'idols' sometimes it's better just to dream.

^ ^ Yep, mine was just a little bit longer than that (and it's just about the same color, actually). But I went for the one big cut, partly because I wanted a change and partly so I could donate the hair. Since then it's just been regular cuts, until the last one. I think this is about as short as I'm going to go, though (it's about the same length as yours). For one thing, my husband is starting to get a little bit nervous, and he's been a really good sport so far.
