My Smallville series finale dream - feasible?

So last night I had a dream about the series finale of Smallville. The episode was set ten years in the future where Clark had been gone for a whole decade training with Jor-el in the fortress. Due to some kind of mindwipe by Jor-el, no one that knew Clark like Lois and Jimmy now recognized him. The sad thing was, Clark still remembered them and had to carry the friendships and experiences he had with these people, making his transformation into Superman somewhat tragic. Speaking of Superman, in the dream Tom Welling finally conceeded to wearing the glasses for more than just two seconds. He even acted nerdy like Christopher Reeve. But sadly, Welling still refused to wear the Superman suit so everytime Superman would appear on screen, his face would be onscured by shadows, or played by body doubles, or just close-ups of Tom Welling's head. So what do you think? Think its a possible finale from TPTB?

On a side note, later that night I had a dream Clark was chasing Jimmy and Chloe around the barn trying to kill them. Not sure what to make of that one.

Good idea. Wellings a turd. It's not like he hasn't been typecast already, so I don't see why he's such a stickler about the suit. It's why I never got into the show. Because they'll never have Superman, at any point, in it.

But what about Welling's FILM career? You have to be very careful when deciding what comes after Cheaper by the Dozen, The Fog and Cheaper by the Dozen 2!!!

To be perfectly honest, I don't think Tom Welling could pull off a nerdy Clark Kent if his life depended upon it, and if he ever put on the suit we'd quickly realise that there is zero percent different between his Clark Kent and Superman performances.

It's too bad they already used Dean Cain on the show, he could have played a future Clark/Supes.

The two deaths in the finale revealed?

You should watch 06x20 "Noir". Welling plays the classic nerdy, clumsy reporter quite well.

I like a Smallville dream I had better...

Kara returns to Metropolis, confesses her love to Lois and they go on to have hot lesbian sex in the Kent barn.

I somehow don't see it happening though. :(

I think you're on the right track in order for the whole superman/clark kent dual identity to work. I'm sure Jor'El will be the cause for everybody, especially people close to him, to NOT know that Clark and Superman being the same guy.

Gotta say if we get to vote... I'm voting for your dream :techman:

This idea is full of WIN; so much WIN, I endorse it wholeheartedly.

Why does he have to play it overtly nerdy? Because everyone's fanboy fetish Christopher Reeve did? The whole point of the Clark Kent personae is to blend in. If I saw someone who stammered and was as clumsy and bumbling as Reeve's Kent, I come to the conclusion that he either had a severe mental disorder and wondered how he became a journalist for a great metropolitan newspaper, or that he was hiding something. throughout the comics, Clark has been a tad absent-minded and aloof. But never the characature of a moron. He played it enough just to seperate the personalities of his two identitdies without illustrating (as in the Donner films) "Hey, I'm acting this rediculous to hide the fact that I'm a super powered alien!".

The next Superman project should get off the Donner bandwagon (The last film proved that horse is dead) and should present a Clark Kent every bit as human as Superman is every bit extraordinary.

Honestly I wish they would just look more closely at the Bryne era comics. Clark was a bit of a putz, but not so buffoonish and overly clumsy and stupid to be retarded. But an in shape, intelligent, witty, if a bit intellectual kind of guy. Honestly Dean Cain kind of did a very good Byrne era Superman. His Clark was probably cooler than his Superman. His Superman was a bit on the goofy, nerdy and preachy side.

And given the more 'realistic' nature of the show, I see no reason for him to be in the spandex suit with underwear, although I'd try to figure out how to keep the cape, but then again, you could get a similar effect with just a trench coat type deal. Dark/light blue under maybe his jeans and a pair of boots, with the S symbol as sort of armor. Since it seems that even in smallville his clothes can be damaged, so the 'super aura' doesn't really play into that realities Superman powers. So give him something like a quasi leather vest with the S, so that if he gets shot at or something, it won't get too damaged. Then I'd give him a sort of dark red/burgundy jacket to sort of give the feel of a cape. And then to keep red in the mid section, a red and gold 'belt' and then color the boots a very dark burgundy.
