So, I'm working with Vance on this.

Here are the ships I have so far for the tech manual pages...

The Saladin (Hermes looks just like this, but no upper phasers or torpedoes)...

The Ptolemy...

And of course, Enterprise...

I think these are pretty neat. They are very fast and easy to make, too. :)

Wow. Yeah, the more I look at various JJ rearrangements the more I'm convinced I like it all except the cruiser's 2nd hull.

Those would probably be 2250s refits of Saladin/Hermes and Ptolemy, with the original 2220s incarnations looking more like the Kelvin...

Wanna do the Kelvin generation of these ships next? ;)

I do need to dust off my Kelvin model... I was never really happy with the textures I made for it. :)

Oh! these are fantastic!
Thanks. :)

I posting these in the Federation thread, but they should go here as well.

This one turned out good. :)

Since the original Federation had a different Primary Hull than the Enterprise, I thought this one should too. It's about have borrowed from my Venture Star, but I thought it would look appropriate.

I also made the Secondary Hull about 10% bigger, to scale a little better with the new Saucer.

It fits right in along with the others, I think.

Those honkin' huge nacelles really work on a battlewagon. Can't wait to see where this project goes.

Blender, eh? I have Blender 2.47 on my machine but I can't make heads or tails of it! Do you know of any good tutorials that tech me how to build starships? I'm sure once I have the basics down that'll I'll be able to muddle through the rest. But I can't even seem to get started!

Well, I use 2.45, for a couple of reasons; the first being the fact that when you enter a new primitive, it aligns it to your current view. In the newer version, it always assigns it a rotational value of 0, so you always have to rotate it to the direction you want.

Here are some good tutorials, that I host on my site...

The textbook at the bottom is especially good. It really starts off with the basics.
