The first round is once again going to be held in Puerto Rico and Tokyo and will also be held in Mexico City and Toronto.

They still havn`t determined who gets second round games but the article mentions San Deigo for round 2 and Dodgers Stadium for the Semifinals and Finals. I would be shocked if the Dominican Republic does not host a round in the tourny.

I can`t wait for Team Puerto Rico to hit the field next winter.

Yeah, cool. I heard about games coming to the Rogers' Centre in Toronto. I'll have to make sure I take in the Canada/US game, to see if we can repeat our upset from last time around...:techman:

Sorry for the necromancy, but I figured with the WBC underway, it would be as well to use a pre-existing thread than start a new one.

Will any of you be going to the Rogers Centre for the Canada-USA game tomorrow?

I was at the game - which the USA won 6-5, though Canada came close to evening things out right up to the end.

Oh well. Canada will have another go on Monday against Italy (who got beat by Venezuela 7-0 in the second game held today) while the US are set for a match-up against the South Americans tomorrow evening.

That was an exciting game! All the intensity of a playoff game in early March, I love it! So much better than a typical ST game for my baseball fix.

And I see JJ Putz is already in prime midseason form for a Mets reliever by making it close, but much better than September form when he would have totally blown it.

I'm a bit surprised Venezuela played that badly. I thought they were a good team. Very impressed with the American team though. They look to go really far in the tournament.

Ah shucks - wasn't able to make it on Saturday, but watched it on TV.
It's been a long time since I was so emotionally invested in watching a baseball game - not since '93 and the Jays' back-to-back Series wins...

Yeah, but Netherlands defeated the Dominican Republic. I saw the ending of that game, the players from the Dominican Republic looked almost stunned.

Uggh! Canada forgot that they actually AREN'T the Blue Jays when they only scored 2 runs against Italy of all teams...:klingon:

That Netherlands vs. PR game was an exciting one last night.

This year's WBC just seems to play out better than the last one. I don't think anyone knew what to expect but the players and fans alike seem to be more into it this time around.

I'm really getting into the WBC now. Well done to the Netherlands for ousting the Dominican Republic tonight. I missed all the fun because of dinner but they looked like they couldn't hit if thier lives depended on it. Now they are moving to the second round.

Cuba looks like they are unraviling. 4-2 Australia. Dang I thought Cuba was supposed to be the best in this tournament.

I was disappointed to see the US lose last night, but as a Mets fan, glad to see K-Rod have a shut down 9th.

Exciting finish to the US-Purto Rico game. US Advances to the Semi finals after being down 2 in the 9th. Good stuff.

There was a replay that pretty clearly showed Victorino just kind of leaning into the ball. He didn't kick it.

Awesome ending to the game, though. The better the US does, the better the WBC's chances at longevity, IMO.
