Law and Order UK

Well, except they didn't have an American deal for a while. CBC just can't schedule a 6-8 episode series... even though they don't even have proper TV blocks.

Most countries go the telenovella format for their original programming, from what I understand.

So, after 4 episodes what are we thinking? I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than I ever expected I would. And it looks like it's holding it's audience.

Law & Order: UK continues to perform well for ITV1, overnight ratings figures suggest.
The crime drama - starring Bradley Walsh and Jamie Bamber - pulled in 5.77m (25.2%) last night, holding a steady audience since its debut three weeks ago.

I'm really, really enjoying it. I'd decided to give it a go because I adore Harriet Walter. Was afraid I wouldn't be able to stick with it though; Bradley Walsh generally annoys the snot out of me. I've been very pleasantly surprised. The whole thing really seems to be clicking, and Walsh is almost charming.

I hope they'll keep it going long enough to see it really develop its own identity seperate from original flavour L&O.

Watching it now on ITV catch-up. I'm less than a minute in and my professional bullshit alarm is already ringing - why are PCSOs dealing with a major security alert and suspect package, apparently by themselves?

Your professional bullshit alarm must go off at regular intervals surely?

The one that always bugged me was CSI where the forensic team were somehow allowed to interrogate suspects.

It's weird because they all seem to be different depending on the department. In the NY series they're also cops.

- know what you mean in Miami they almost seem to be a seperate department and quasi cops. In all the shows I always have to stop and wonder what happened to the primary detective to use a Homicide term, or the rest of the squad to use the general New York cop show terminology. In New York what bugs me especialy is that on every other New York based cop show in existance they are called CSUs not CSIs

I missed this most recent episode, but I'm really enjoying the show. For the most part, this is thanks to the police part of the show. I think Bamber and Walsh have great chemistry and are just huge fun to watch.

Walter also works very well with the two of them, I think.

I thought the latest was the best one yet. Despite having a lot more of the CPS characters on.

I'm at the point where I was before - I like the cops, couldn't give a rat's ass about the lawyers. I just love the relationship between the two cops - whenever Bamber tries to hit on a girl, the other dude gives him a "WTF" look.

Cool. I'll really have to catch up on it then. How long do they keep them available online? A month or so? I won't be able to catch up immediately, unfortunately.

Some shows they keep them online for a month after the last episode airs, others it's only 30 days. I think it depends on the production company.

I don't think it's being aired in the US, and I doubt it'll be available on their website to international users, but you can give it a try.
Apparently Dick Wolf is hoping one of the US networks will pick it up to air Saturday nights during the summer.
