Someone's going to... <<SPOILERS>>

Major: it better not be Ben. He's the most interesting character on the show. I firmly believe that by the end of the series we'll learn he's the one who's been doing everything to save the island, the big hero.

As for majorish: Penny may already be dead.

Yes, I suspect that's true.

Indeed. In fact, Ben may have killed both Penny and Desmond. Which would cover both categories.

Can't be Desmond as the Island isn't finished with him yet.

There hasn't been a whole lot about Sayid this season and what there is they haven't tried to make him any more likable. He wasn't there to help everyone at the Lamp Post and he was very quiet while being taken to and on, the plane.

Is it safe to say that one of the "major" characters killed off WON'T be one of the O6 or Jin who we saw tooling around in the future? If so, that makes Hurley and Sayid safe (contrary to what people speculated above). Damn temporal mechanics...

My money's on Juliette too, as much as I don't want to see the stupid Sawyer/Jack/Kate triangle revived.

New info on the death. It is a character that someone on Lost "also loves."

So, who is loved on the show by another character...

Sawyer
Jack
Kate
Juliette
Jin
Sun
Rose
Bernard
Penny
Desmond

We know it is not Kate or Jack (Kate's been ruled out, Jack has been guaranteed by TPTB to survive the whole series so we know he is safe.) Rose & Bernard & Penny are not main cast members.

So that leaves Sawyer, Juliette, Desmond, Sun & Jin.

It was also said by TPTB that Sawyer survives the series too.

It does not bode well for Juliet :(

Well now that Jin can speak fluent english he dosnt really need a wife who can translate.

I hope hope hope it is Juliet! I am sure it is known by many in this forum at this point that Juliet is my least favorite character. I think she was terribly miscast and I think that the show would improve in quality if the actress that plays her were no longer on it.

I also think it might be Ben, only because there doesn't seem to be a lot left to really do with the character. It seems like he's pretty much served his purpose. I'm sure that if he doesn't die they will find some great plot line for him, but at this point I can't imagine what he would do besides just follow everyone around making suspicious comments.

^ I wouldn't be all that torn up if Juliette bought the farm. She's really not that important.

^Most of the male viewers would be. She's very popular with us guys because she isn't some bloody Mary Sue.

That's right. Even though I don't like that they made her and adulterer that will shack up with any available guy I still like her more than Kate.

We saw Sayid in the future relatively speaking BUT the Sayid we now see in the jail cell is a Sayid that has already had the events that we saw "in the future" happen to. So that doesn't make him or any of the o6 safe IMHO.

In fact, based on the previews for next week, my money is on Sayid. Assuming Faraday's "rules of LOST time travel" is correct (what happened, happened) then we know young Ben can't be killed, but any one of the O6 that are there now are fair game.

It would be funny if Young Ben were killed. Then what does Old Ben do? Just vanish? :rommie:

I know the rules of the game say Young Ben can't die, but if there's one thing I've learned about this show, never be too certain of the rules...

Edit: Urk, I just read this (vague) spoiler about romantic entanglements on the island which has nothing on the surface to do with death, but connecting all the dots:

If it's Juliet and Sawyer getting married, why would they do that? Juliet is pregnant. It's ok because pregnant women survive on the island in this time period. But wouldn't it be ironic if Juliet were the first one to die, considering her original job on the island? And these writers do love their irony.

So, I sadly switch my vote to Juliet. :(

On the upside, thus ends the Quadrangle of Doom. :) And

Sawyer ends up with a bouncing baby which probably turns out to be...Karl? Nah, too young. We're looking for someone on the island, either gender, around 30, blond. Hmmm....the only person who springs to mind is Juliet herself! Nah...they wouldn't. Would they? :rommie:

Well, I would be much happier if they killed off Kate, because she's whiny and not terribly bright--and frankly, I'm sick of her. But they will never kill her off.

But if they kill of Juliet, I'd be OK with that. Just as long as it isn't Sayid, Hurley, Rose, Bernard, ---er, I'd add Locke, but he's "mostly dead" now anyway.

Am I alone here? They can kill anyone except Juliet or Hurley and I'd be cool with it. But there's no killing Juliet under any circumstances. I'm kind of in love with her

I'd be fine with Juliet taking a bullet. And with Kate taking two or three.

In fact I'd be fine with anyone getting killed off if it is well done and drives the story forward. The story comes first, the characters are secondary.

I would have been fine with Sawyer dying when he jumped out of the helicopter if it actually meant he died saving everyone else. It would have been a good death.

I wasn't a fan of Charlie dying (at the time I was, things changed in season 4) because he ended up dying for no reason. Claire wasn't saved, etc... So he died pointlessly. Which is a bummer, but I guess it happens all the time in real life, so why not on a tv series?

But, as I said above, everyone is fair game in my book. Keep the characters they need to finish off the series, let the rest of them die making it happen.

Juliet doesn't make any sense. She wants off the island more than anyone else, and if that doesn't happen for her - if she never gets to see Rachel and her nephew, then the show is depressing beyond belief.
