The cast of TNG reunites for Family Guy

The cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation is reuniting on Fox's animated Family Guy series in an episode in which the Griffin family heads to the annual Quahog Trek convention, The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed column reported.

The episode titled "Not All Dogs Go to Heaven" will feature the guest voices of Patrick Stewart, Levar Burton, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes.

Here's how Fox describes the episode: "Stewie blows a fuse when he doesn't get a chance to ask his favorite Star Trek: The Next Generation cast members any questions. He devises a plan, builds a transporter and beams the entire cast to his bedroom so they can spend a fun-filled day together in Quahog."

The episode will air March 29.

Didn't they kind of already do this in an earlier episode of Family Guy? I don't think it was all the TNG cast, but I believe it was the majority of them.

Yeah, but that was just one cutaway, and it didn't last very long. It was just Picard and Riker making fun of Worf because his "head looks like a fanny" and Worf saying "You can suck my ridges!". Pretty lame joke, but it was cute to see Dorn, Frakes, and Stewart voicing animated versions of themselves. It sounds like the guest spot this time will be a lot more substantial, as it will be integral to the plot, rather than just a cutaway. I hope it's funnier this time.

Rene has already been on the show as Odo. Peter mentions his cousin "Quark Griffin" and you see Odo doing his typical 'I'm watching you' threatening dialogue toward Stewie made up to look like Quark. Another cute little homage.

I think Stewart, Dorn, Frakes, Sirtis, and Burton have, though not all of them together.

Stewart, Dorn, and Frakes voiced their characters in an early episode following the restart where Picard made a joke at Worf's expense. Originally though there was another scene planned where Troi read Picard's mind and found he was having sex fantasies about her on the bridge. Stewart and Sirtis both recorded the lines for it.
