What would you think of a CGI TNG circa...end of season 7?

Just had a random thought - what if they made a entirely CGI-based series of TNG that went back to before the movies using the voice talents of all the original cast? (Partly inspired by the idea of the TOS Animated Series, I'm taking TNG to the "next level")...

Would it work? Would you watch it?

CGI ST:TNG -series

what if they made a entirely CGI-based series of TNG

This really belongs in 'The Future of Trek', specifically the thread called:
'Why the hell don't they make a new cartoon?'

see my similar post on that thread here:

Highly doubtful that the fee for Patrick Stewart would be low enough for this. although if they scan his face in 3D with a laser 3D scanner they could use it for future videogames as well as CGI animation for a 'cartoon'.

Yeah, picking up where the 7th season left off. Granted, it would essentially erase the stories of the 4 films, but most seem to agree that at least 2 of them weren't even worthwhile.

You could always pick up after Nemesis and have a series that followed all the TNG characters (Picard's Enterprise, Riker's Titan, and all the other characters wherever they are).

Still, I just prefer the feel of TNG when it was still a series. Picking up for an 8th season of TNG has far more appeal to me than anything else Trek could do right now (and using CGI ala Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within seems like the only realistic way of pulling it off, given all the comments about how bloated Frakes has become lately).

;)

I'd be more likely to watch the Post Nemesis series, than the post Season 7 series. I like the continuity that's built up with the movies and wouldn't want to see that messed up. Not the least of which (for me) was the introduction of Sean Hawk, and through him the character of his partner Ranul Keru. Plus the events of those 4 films tie into all the other Trek shows. But even in that post Nemesis time frame I'd rather they didn't bother.
