Your favourite podcasts

I've only recently discovered the wonders of podcasts, but I already have quite a few I subscribe to.

I found a cool amateur production company that makes original and fan-fiction radio shows: Pendant Productions. The one I listen to faithfully (because it's my favourite) is called The Dixie Stenberg And Brassy Battalion Adventure Theater, a loving send-up of Old Time Radio shows set during World War II. They also have a slew of DC Comics shows, which I haven't started listening to yet. They're pretty good for young, inspired people who are doing it all on their free time.

Speaking of Old Time Radio, I discovered old episodes of The Shadow! I make them my weekend treat, at bedtime with the lights out. I also have the CBC Radio podcast of Stuart McLean's The Vinyl Cafe. And President Obama's weekly address, just because I can. :)

Does anyone subscribe to or download regularly a podcast, and which ones are your favourites?

Great topic. :techman:
I'm surprised it's had a new lease of life all of a sudden... :wtf:
Friday Night Comedy from Radio 4 - I'll admit that I'm a much bigger fan of The News Quiz than The Now Show. Sandi Toksvig does a great job, but I miss Linda Smith terribly.
:( Linda Smith was one of the funniest female comedians the country had produced. The News Quiz and Just A Minute aren't the same without her (although in the latter Liza Tarbuck and Pauline McLynn do a fine job).

I like both News Quiz and The Now Show, the latter if only for Marcus Brigstocke's rants. :guffaw:

Well, of all the suggestions, I've added the BS report. There's another ESPN podcast in my collection of about 6 or 7 of those from that same company. So far, not too bad. Some funny bits here and there.

I've added and removed some shows. Currently in my rotation are:

1 - Friday Night Comedy from BBC 4 (news quiz, love it!)
2 - Slice of Sci Fi
3 - Dragon Page: Cover to Cover
4 - The Babylon Podcast
5 - The Onion (everyone should listen to this daily)
6 - Ron Moore's BSG podcast
7 - Whovian Quest
8 - The official Doctor Who podcast from BBC
9 - The Station (you should all listen to this one too ;) )

And a smattering of others at random.

Does anyone here have their own podcast?

Sorry to bring this up again, but didn't want to start a new thread on it. Does anyone want to share any new podcasts they listen to? I'm really looking for a good movie/film news/review podcast but can't seem to find that many. I subscribed to one (Filmspotting) but of the films I've heard them review, they just tore them apart. Anyway, as for new podcasts I've added since this thread:

Slice of Scifi - Fun stuff, even though I've been listening to it ever since September and I still don't get the appeal of the whole Fox Leader thing from the Voice Mail shows.

Scott Van Pelt - Listened to my first episode today but really like him on Sportscenter

Wait Wait Don't Tell Me & Car Talk - Some of the funniest shows I've heard.

The NHL Hour - I think it's cool that the commissioner takes time out of his schedule each week to talk to the fans.

Thundering Herd - Don't really listen to Colin that much but wanted to give it a try.

I don't listen to many, dropped a load a while back and never bothered to pick them up again.

The only ones that come to mind are

Drunk Tank- from rooster teeth. This can be a bit hit and miss but usually good.
and the no longer running
D&D podcast Acquisitions incorporated- where the guys from Pvp and penny arcade play d&d. I've had some good chuckles with that one

I mentioned the BBC 5live film review podcast at the start of this thread - it comes out every Friday. The film critic, Mark Kermode, is quite eclectic in his tastes (he knows his horror films, for instance) but his rants are quite amusing.
