the only part that bugged me was that Ryloth wasn't a tidally locked planet with only a narrow twilight-zone where the Twi'leks live...

^Maybe if they had done that then the tactics used would have made more sense to me.

I really enjoyed the episode but I found the whole situation a bit strained. It's not Clone Wars fault, though. This has been a problem with "planet-occupation/liberation" stories for a long time. The problem being the story focuses on one city on an entire planet, as if all the planet's population are in this one city.

They can't land troops until those guns are taken out? Why not just land further away from the city? It's a freaking planet you're trying to liberate, not one city!

This is where the WWII style invasion/liberation stories fall flat. Yes, of course when liberating the real cities they had to take out the AA guns, etc... It's much easier to defend an earth city with a limited amount of guns and troops since the target is relatively small when compared to the entire planet.

Outside of this nit I enjoyed the episode immensely. Like everyone else I'm looking forward to Clone Wars every week.

Doesn't this mark two eps in a row wherein the Separatist top-kick asks for the opposing Jedi's file, then seems to do absolutely nothing with it.

Had a weird moment in a Toys R Us. A little one was begging his Mom for an Anakin figure, and I realized, from the kid's age--he doesn't know what happens next.

Since this is a three-parter, that might be setup for something that pays off in part three (which is also the season finale).

No, the third part isn't the season finale.

The season finale is the episode after it, "Hostage Crisis", which they already showed clips from (with new baddie Cad Bane).

Actually, the finale is now on the 20th, while the Ryloth conclusion is still next week. Still, I hope you're right, Chekov's Gun and all that. Hmm could this entire campaign be a Separatist ploy to get more psych-info on the Jedi. If so, then Palps really is playing them, because he could easily give them all such info. Then again, all the Separatists ever were was his means of controlling the when where why and how of the Republic's inevitable downfall.
