Star Trek is so awesome, Captain Robau concedes it is the one thing in the Universe equally awesome as he!

Star Trek desperately needs a bit of awesome, I think. If it ever wants to cross over into pop culture to the same level Wars has, it definitely needs Awesomeness.

Still too soon to say how awesome it is.

I will say this is Trek's best chance at a comeback from what I see in the trailer.

;)

Agreed!
Star Trek:

Great movie or greatest movie?
We will ALL find out in may!:techman:

:vulcan: Very true!
I think you hit the head right on the nail. This movie is too "teh awesome". Its kinda like both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight all rolled into one. I cant wait till this is the biggest movie of the summer and all the cry-babies have nothing to say...except, I agree. It is Teh Awesome...
:D:D:D Could not say it any better myself!:techman:
1) The pace of the film doesn't appear to be plodding.

2) I didn't spot nearly enough middle-aged or elderly television actors.

3) The Enterprise appeared to be moving quite fast in a number of scenes.

This is not the Star Trek I grew up with.
I'm sorry, but the Trek we all grew up with died with ''These are the voyages'':( I really would like to see new DS9 ''or'' Enterprise episodes in the future, possibly Direct to DVD!, but I really don't see that happining ever. If this movie is a hit! this will be the Trek Paramount will focus on. And that my be a good thing if Trek is to survive!

No Shakespeare. But Pike goes into battle with Wagner piped throughout the ship.

The awesomeness may be so palpable in the theater that people will put money into a collection plate on the way out just because they feel they cheated Paramount by paying only ten dollars for such an awesome adventure.

Captain Robau is in it. That automatically makes it the latter.

Here we see the 2010 Oscars. Captain Robeau is on stage to accept the Oscar for "Best Film Ever Made" and the surrender of Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg

Haha! It's quite funny that the guy you cut out of that picture is George Lucas (especially considering the rabid anti-Wars Trekkies one finds in the Trek XI forum).

Lol! :)

This trailer made my friends who normally never watch Sci-Fi and watch crap on MTV want to go see it.

If it can convert burn-outs to Trek, then it is more powerful and awesome than Jesus.

You're hanging out with ''burn-outs''??:wtf: Oh, and that comment about the trailer being "more powerful and awesome then christ" BLASPHEMY!!!:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:( Sorry, I couldn't resist)

When the Defiant was first delivered to Deep Space Nine it had such brute awesomeness it nearly shook itself apart. Then, after O'Brien's team spent two weeks overhauling the structural-integrity field grid, the ship had true awesomeness in battle.

Dammit, it's George Lucas's house, and if he wants to paint it green and everyone thinks it's a bad idea, he's still going to paint it Jar-Jar.

I think people are pumping this movie up to stratospheric expectations... then many of you will find holes in it everywhere and slam it to pieces afterward.

Be patient... the trailer looks great, but it's JUST A TRAILER. Who knows if it will be representative of the whole deal. We've got a couple months to go--it'll be here before you know it. So, don't keep predicting that it'll be awesome. Give it some space and let's keep reasonable expectations, m'Kay?
