Whoa! There are other wrestling fans here! I honestly figured I'd be the only one - not a lot of overlap among the fanbases, I'd imagine.

I get surprised by it too sometimes. This pic (fat guy topless, beware) may look like a simple lockup, but the guy in black was wearing a mask and I was determined to make him (current Dutch Champion) laugh so said "I'm Kirk, you're the Gorn, bitch!" and it worked.

Our MC and myself also halted a company meeting when we recognised the inspiration for the promoter saying "What does God need with YouTube?" - several fans have picked up in Trek (and other SF references) in promo's.

I think we're bigger geeks then the now stereotypical geeky superfans.

That's awesome! I think it's great that your fans pick up on the SF references occasionally.

And as I think about it more, it makes some sense that there is overlap in fan bases. Both followings tend to inspire a certain fanaticism so it makes sense that those of us with fanatical personalities would be drawn to forms of entertainment that are especially addictive.

As captcalhoun said, he's a grape; specifically Goofy Grape, of the Funny Face drink mixes from the 60s. Which is even cooler than Purple People Eater.
