That's a reasonable misunderstanding. You'd be surprised at how confused some people can get regarding the sex on a forum.

I'm frankly astonished that there aren't a lot more women here.
From my experience, Trekdom is one of the few flavors of fandom where the women often outnumber the men, or at least match them in numbers. Most of the Trek conventions I've attended either have noticeably more women than men. And that applies somewhat to the Pros as well as the Fen, at least where authors are concerned. Take even a fairly cursory glance at the author names in the "Trek" section of your local Borders or B&N, and you can't help but notice that an awful lot of Trek lit is written by women, and that Male authors tend to dominate only in Trek books of a "Treknical" nature.
