Guy's a decent actor. People shit on him because of Enterprise but most of that was the writing. I mean, when half of your scripts involve lying naked on the floor how do you present the character as a badass?

Great. King Cockblock and The Penis Flytrap. BOOOOO. BOOOOO.....ish. Seriously I like both characters. However they get in the way of my Chuck and Sarah gushfests and that just cannont be forgiven.

Yeah, I've heard the rumors that it might be on the bubble because the ratings aren't that great. I think we should be ok though, hopefully. Chuck is just a brand new show that has to go against CBS's Monday Night comedy juggernaut, Gossip Girl, and now House. House, of course, was the reason for the drop in ratings last week. It's first season was cut short by the writers strike and because of that was only able to start to build a fan base just this season.
And even then it does good numbers, by NBC stadards. It's like their 5th highest rated show. The truth is is that Chuck and Heroes are the only shows that have any chance of being competitive on Mondays. It gets almost as many numbers as Heroes does, the supposed flag ship drama that's been pissing away potential Chuck veiwers with bad writing faster then Enterprise ever could have hopped to. Heroes is a sinking ship and it's taking Chuck down with it. They also seem to be giving the show the Angel treatment. They're always giving it breaks for no reason and then never show the repeats. If you look at the numbers, when Chuck is allowed to build consistently week after week their numbers always start to go up. I think with all these big events happening, and espeically with Chevy Chase as the Big Bad, things hopefully should even out.
There's also other factors to consider. It's very popular on ITunes and Hulu. The DVD's sell well. The critics love it. It's been in every critic Top 10 and Top 5 for 2 years in a row now. It always finishes in the Top 40. It gets better numbers then Alias, the show it was created to mock, ever did. It gets better numbers then The Office originally did. It gets better numbers then Scrubs did after their second season. And like I said, it's just now starting to build an audience. And it's the only one of their 2008 shows that didn't bomb completely. And it's incredibly cheap to make. I think Chuck could be solid ratings getter. But not on Monday with that kind of competetion. And not tied together with Heroes. A move to Sunday could do wonders for it IMO. Chuck is down because all of their shows are down. If NBC in general was up, so would Chuck.
On the downside Jay Leno is on the horrizon with his 5 hours of TV promised to him. And the current situation with all of their shows ratings could prompt hasty decisions. And Chuck is made by Warner Bros., not NBC. As long as we get a decent enough ending to this story I won't complain too much though.
In conclusion, watch Chuck people. It's the best genre show on TV.
