Re: New images

Jeez, they really need to adjust the picture on that viewscreen. Brightness, sharpness, TINT...

Re: New images

I smell a caption contest brewing. Or that could be a fart.
Sorry I beat you to it!:techman:

Hello I am with the Mormon Church of latter day saint's. Do you have a moment to talk about the lord?

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

Excellent hehehehe

Re: New images

That looks like crap. The reflections in the viewscreen from the bridge lighting just ruin it. I can't believe the viewscreen from the 60's is superior to this.
To YOU maybe.:vulcan: But to me, THIS is superior!
Come on, dude. He's allowed to post his impression of it, same as everyone else, and it isn't necessary to challenge someone simply because their opinion differs from your own.

Sorry, I appologize. I did not mean to challenge any one, I guess I'm still a little defenseive from that (New picture's of the enterprise) thread that devolved in to a shouting match. Once again I did not mean to offend.

Re: New images

This is a good time for "Caption This!"

My contribution:

Yes, I'm Romulan. That's spelled R.O.M.U.L.A.N. I look like a Vulcan. My mission is simple: Violate canon, rape childhoods.

Maybe it would be more productive to ask WHY somebody would think the junkied-up obscured image is the superior one? On the basis that it looks busier?

Note: not challenging. Just asking.

No, see, when Scotty gave the 1980's transparent aluminum, the technology of polarized lensing or anti-glare screens were both lost. Damn sad. :alienblush:

You need to give me ANOTHER reason to dislike TVH? Plethora of riches.

Re: New images

Wait a minute, doesn't the thread title suggest that there is more than just one new image? Dare I say it even promises it to the reader? I want my other image, damnit!

From a technical standpoint, I have to agree the screen is crap. If the whole damn bridge is reflected in the main viewer, it's made useless. Seriously, we've got anti-reflective viewers and screens today (I'm using one), so to have this screen on the new Enterprise is impossible to justify.

It isn't.

I don't know, somehow it makes it seem more realistic to me. I guess without the reflections it would just be another special effect projected on a green screen.

Effects aren't projected on greenscreen.

Process shots are made by projecting film onto RP screens (a la bridge shots in TFF and TUC), and greenscreen shots don't have anything projected on them at all, you're lighting the green so you can eliminate it more easily and then put in your background after the fact.

Really? You've got a computer, right, I'm assuming... how much of your front room do you see in it? :P

Yeah, I know how green screens work. Sorry, I think I just expressed myself mistakable. I was speaking figuratively.
