An unfortunate way to spend a birthday

Goji

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Tomorrow will be the 22nd anniversary of my birth. The really unfortunate thing about being a February birth, at least during one's time spent in college, is that it's basically right in the middle of midterm season. I have two of them, one tomorrow (which effectively kills the day for me. I'm rarely in a good mood after one of those exams), and then the next day, which will at least kill tomorrow evening for me (since I have to spend it studying). This is not the first time this has happened (though since I'm graduating, hopefully it shall be the last).

I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun this weekend, which will go a long way to making up for the yuckiness that is going to be my actual birthday (funnily enough, it will probably be the single least pleasant day so far this year *shrugs* The universe hates me, and I deal with it). But it still got me to thinking, who else has a birthday at a really inconvenient time? Some of my friends have their birthdays in late December or May - finals season. One of my friends has basically never celebrated his birthday because it's the 23rd of December, two days before Christmas (which his family celebrates) which naturally overshadows it.

I hear ya bro. I'm May 1st, so I almost always had a final or 2 on my birthday. A real kick in the head was the day after my 17th birthday when I got my license, I had to take my SATs the next morning.

Happy Birthday. And it could be worse. I once spent my birthday stuck in my car out in the middle of nowhere during an ice storm.

It's all relative.

Happy birthday, by the way. At least you werent' born on, say, February 30th, 'cause then I'd have bad news for you this month.

Our baby's all grown up now. :( Happy birthday!

That happened a while ago. :shifty:

Oh yeah, CorporalClegg, that does sound like it sucked. This isn't nearly as bad, but it did remind me that my family once moved interstate, from Washington to California, the day after my birthday. I spent my birthday that year (2000, when I turned 13) packing everything I owned into boxes and hauling them onto a truck. That wasn't a tremendous amount of fun either. Probably more fun than what I'll be getting tomorrow though.

Happy Birthday Goji sorry about your mid term schedule, just go nuts over the weekend.

Cheer up Goji. College is a temporary thing. Your birthday will not involve any more school or finals once you graduate.

Have as good of a birthday as you can manage! :)

My plan involves a lot of suffering on the 26th, and then I'll get on with my merry little life. By my standards, I'm dancing in the streets with joy. ;)

I had to go and have my Rubella (German measles) vaccination on my birthday. The health service where I was living automatically booked the appointments, and my mum refused to change it. :(:klingon:

You're breathing. Stop complaining. Serioiusly, try and squeeze in some fun!

How about I just stop breathing and we'll call it even?

...

Wait, no that doesn't work. Guess Plan A's still in effect. :techman:
