Re: New Footage - Saturday @ 8:00 on MTV

Well. Trek was thrown in there as an afterthought. If we get any new footage, which I doubt, it will be a whopping 2 seconds worth mixed in with everything we have already seen. meh :shifty:

It comes with an introduction from Zachary Quinto and new footage. Definitely nothing like you imply.

From the TrekMovie article:

TrekMovie has confirmed with Paramount that what MTV will be airing is new. So tune in to MTV Saturday at 8:00 PM to check it out.

UPDATE: MTV just posted a report on the taping of the "Spoilers" TV show, which includes a little more info:
The fans did much more than merely watch the Watchmen on Wednesday. "Star Trek" actor Zachary Quinto recorded a special greeting that unspooled on the big screen for the cheering "Spoilers" crowd, followed by some new footage focusing on the skills of director J.J. Abrams.

And I'll be happy to eat my words, I'll be tuning in too! :techman:

Re: New Footage - Saturday @ 8:00 on MTV

Wow, might be the first time I tune into MTV willingly in years! I'll set my DVR to record just in case I'm not around and I just want to fast forward to the good stuff. :techman:

Re: New Footage - Saturday @ 8:00 on MTV

This is another instance of where I hope they don't show much new footage as the movie's coming out soon enough, and I know that I will see it...so please don't show me any new stuff! :scream:

According to Wil Wheaton,

After all that, they showed the Star Trek thing. It was mostly stuff we've already seen, but the geeks (including me) were excited about it. Their host asked me some questions about the movie, and I thought I got in one comment about myself that was stupid, one about the movie that was insightful, and another that was humorous. You can watch MTV Spoilers on Saturday if you want to see what I said. BUT BE WARNED: THERE WILL BE MASSIVE WATCHMEN SPOILERS IN THIS SHOW.

[WWdN: In Exile] Spoiler Alert: WATCHMEN is fucking awesome.

MTV's Spoilers

Well, that was pretty lame. The article on Trek Today said that new footage from the movie was going to be shown, but it ended up being the same old scenes pulled from the trailers and the SB spot. It was hardly worth tuning in for.

I'm hoping for something better from the new trailer.

The whole thing was basically the Esurance video, with additional comments from John Cho and Simon Pegg. Also we saw some brief snippets of what is possibly the Kelvin bridge and an elongated glimpse at the Spock/Kirk fight scene.

It totally slipped my mind.

Glad to hear I didn't miss anything.

Stinks that they hyped it as "new stuff" when it wasn't. Hope that's not a clue as to what the quality of this whole thing will be. (Namely, pull one off on the public.)

My bad. I didn't realize another one was underway. Thanks for the transport!

Ugh, that was 30 minutes of my life I will never get back. Now I know why I never watch MTV...did the hosts have to bring se xor some aspect of it into EVERY conversation they had?!?
