"Superman Returns' still to get a sequel?

From Superman Homepage:

Slashfilm.com claims to have received a link to a password protected page from the official Legendary Pictures website where a movie titled "Superman Unleashed" is listed amongst their films in development. The page reads:
  • Ramping up the action of its esteemed predecessor, the sequel to 'Superman Returns' promises to raise the stakes and take the audience to heights of action that no other superhero movie can achieve.
Slasfilm.com seems to think this means that a sequel to "Superman Returns" and not a reboot is being planned. They also indicate that another of their sources claims that the title is just a working title and they are still hearing pitches from different writers.

Hope this pans out!

Legendary Pictures... that's a production company, not the studio that owns the rights to Superman. I'd guess this means that LP wants to make a sequel to Superman Returns and is trying to sell Warner Bros. on their idea. That doesn't preclude WB from going a different direction instead.

I'll admit that I liked Superman Returns, but does anyone consider it esteemed?

I esteem it. It's the most beautifully directed movie I've ever seen.

The Wachowskis can't write a script worth shit, imo. The first Matrix flick was a one-trick pony.

Bound and V for Vendetta

V for Vendetta is awesome!

I've never paid much attention to the plot for Bound but you can imagine why.;)

The Wachowskis have been pretty much debunked at this point.

And yes, I'd say Returns was esteemed by most professional critics--i.e. not internet fanboys who were mad they didin't get the movie they wanted. IIRC, Ebert was the only major critic with a less than stellar review.

Just to clarify the relationship between Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros:
LP has a 5-year, 25-picture agreement to co-produce and co-finance films with WB. Legandary has helped pay for Batman Begins, Superman Returns, The Dark Knight and Watchmen, just to name a few. Without such a partner, Warner Bros might not be so heavily involved in making big-budget superhero movies .

Everyone knows they stole the Matrix script from someone else. I remember it being some woman who wrote it and they stole it...Thats why the 2nd and 3rd were shit and had little to nothing to do with the first...Cause "they" had to write them...

Uh huh. Sure.

Care to provide a link?

I love how tools on this board pop up stuff like this and fail to provide links or evidence.
Here's a link. Probably not one that supports DontFeedPhil's premise, but a link nevertheless.
