TRIP/MICHAEL/CONNOR: You're All We Think About

Somebody suggested Trip always gets killed on TV...

So I posted Connor's post-ENT record:

NCIS: Bad guy, dies.
Numb3rs: Good guy mistaken for bad guy, lives.
Close to Home: Good guy, lives.
SGA: Bad guy, briefly good guy, really bad guy, dies.
Without a Trace: Bad guy, lives.
Family Guy: horny guy, dies.
Criminal Minds: Good guy, probably lives (hard to tell because he falls off the screen the last 20 minutes of the ep ).
Sarah Chronicles: Apparent good guy, actual bad guy, dies.

it's fifty/fifty. concerning the sarah connor thing, we had doubt about that.
As connor is working, that works to me.

Guess I should have explained more fully - Connor was giving such a stand-up straight arrow kind of guy performance that when the doctor talked about bad men, I assumed the sheriff knew the doctor because the police had to rescue her from someone and kept tabs on her. As the scene in the morgue played out and I quickly realized it was more than that, I thought that was an interesting twist. Maybe I don't watch enough TV to have gotten the whole plot from those earlier scenes.

Jinx - looks like it's 50/50 on the live and die question - pretty much on par with guests on these action shows, I would guess.

i've gone to some forums about this show to read the point of views.

very positive, it's good. fans who have recognized connor call him "sheriff trip"

oh, and, unfortunately for the show, the audience was very low, about 3.5 (it's low for the fox channel?).

I've been watching "Sarah Connor Chronicles" on and off since its debut last year and the biggest problem with the show is the kid they have playing John Connor- no way this guy is gonna grow up to be humanity's leader; he's a cliche' "emo" kid who belongs in a CW series. I love Summer Glau- I'm hoping she get another show after this one gets cancelled.

Anyway, Connor's performance was good as usual but I wish they would've made it a two-parter so we could get more background about the Doc and Sheriff.

Connor's dark hair made him look like former Prez Dubya's younger brother!

I'm not under the impression a lot of people are watching but I am surprised Connor didn't give the show a ratings bump.
If the whole series is as dull as that episode, I'm not surprised it's not doing well. (Tho' that terminator going through the warehouse and "firing" everybody was cool.)

And I was really distracted by the actress who plays Sarah. It was weird having a Sarah Connor who looks nothing like Linda Hamilton. How hard would it have been to get an actress who at least shares her physique and general facial characters. The one on the show doesn't come across anywhere near as vulnerable as Hamilton played Sarah.

I suppose it's remotely possible that Connor's character survives. We'll just have to wait and see if he turns up again. :)

The ending was a nice twist and the only interesting point of the show. I don't see it lasting. The prequel thing does not work in this case. It makes the whole struggle seem useless.

In some scenes Connor's hair looks extra dark, like they were not consistent doing his hair on some days at the studio. It almost looked like a toupee.

I'm sorry to say that this wasn't one of their better episodes if you hadn't been watching from the beginning. This episode was mostly continuing an ongoing storyline that has been going on since the beginning of season two and it didn't do much to explain some of the things (I've had several PMs from people who have been watching it from the beginning asking me questions about it). The show is mostly done in an arc and this episode was just furthering it.

I do agree. Lena Headey's character takes some time to grow on people. She is more of a soft Sarah compared to Linda's performance.

If I hear anything about him returning - maybe he'll be a terminator next - I'll be sure to let everyone know.

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy it. As I said the episode is more a long arc with last nights episode being mainly exposition for the upcoming episodes.

Also, The Sarah Connor Chronicles is not a prequel. It is a direct sequel to Terminator 2. Terminator 3 no longer exists in the timeline and is a separate timeline.

oh, no, i enjoyed it, even if there is some critics to make. First, to me, sarah connor is Linda Hamilton, but it's not a big deal, this actress is very talented.

i've also a problem with the guy who act John Connor. he seems not to be really charismatic.

the visual effects are great. I'had had the feeling to watch a termitor movie.

i would not judge the story line, i don't really know it.

but this show is watchable, i admit that i spend a good time to watch it. it desserve not this low ratings. i hope for the fans, that it will not be canceled.

it's strange that for a premiere after the hiatus, that people didn't watch it.

Well, it would do better if they stopped moving it around.

I liked seeing Connor, but I just KNEW he was going to get killed off. At least he made it through the whole episode, though.

^ Very good point. That's why I'm glad that they count DVR and online viewing from Fox.Com/Hulu/YouTube.

Sheriff Trip! I love it.

As far as the ratings go, it was in the Friday night "Death Slot" (a slot we Enterprise fans know all too well). I had to DVR the episode because I was busy that night. If I didn't have the DVR I would have missed it. It's a shame that the series isn't doing well, the concept is great.

yes, the show is good. i will probably not a big fan, but it's true that the concept is great.

as for connor, i think he would be great as a terminator or a guy from the future, he made me think to michael biehn in the first movie.

Marie, he is not Trip in that show. :)

:p

I know.... but I was looking at the "Connor" in this thread title, and I wanted to use his last name, not his first... totally blanked, threw up my hands, and just put in "Trip" cuz I knew you guys would figure out it out... even if I couldn't.

Trinnear!! Or something to that effect! It finally hits me!

Thank you for DVRing it. Fox is counting DVR and online views from the legitimate sites (Fox.Com/Hulu/YouTube).

You know, we're coming up on the Big 1000th Post!! here so we need to come up with a new title for our next Trip/Connor/Michael/Alvan worship thread... and a volunteer to take charge of The First Post.

Didn't someone already try that? Fans did not want this thread to fade away. Too many good pictures.
