Actually, I used to live near the Apnex Sea, but then I moved and committed suicide. Now I'm floating around in space in a torpedo casket.
The continuing committee is only for Romulans who have a distinguished record of service to the state (or has a lot of friends). Mr. Spock, unfortunately, has neither, nor is he a Romulan. Also, I don't think he's particularly interested in entering Romulan politics himself and, as we don't look kindly towards pacifists, probably wouldn't do very well either.
Maybe someday his peace movement works and Captain Picard can deliver the letter I left for my wife and daughter, but we'll have to see.
