Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman

I'm convinced more than ever that this is a game he's playing. It's a game that can only be played so far, though. It's funny for now, but the longer he plays it, and the further he takes it, the more he risks becoming that person. He also risks losing his fans and turning his livelihood into a fiasco. I mean, how do you "come out" of this kind of weirdness and go back to normal?

I hope it's a game, but I kind of doubt it. That was so uncomfortable to watch...and really sad as well. I don't really know what else to say, just that that's really sad.

"you know that just seems unlikely"

"..........."

Someone at the taping said he acted normal during the commercial break talking to Dave and after the interview ended he took his glasses off laughed and waved to the audience.

I really doubt he was just playing around - it was way too .... uncomfortable.

That dude was fucking wrecked on something.

There's a rumor going around that this is all an act and that he's making a movie with Casey Affleck filming it...a sort "documentary."

I'm convinced it's an act. If you watch closely, there are actually a few points where you can see him start to smile and then he stops himself.

As has been said, apparently they're filming a documentary about his "new career" in hip-hop. I think it's a SBC type of deal.

I hope it's an act for his sake. That was a fucking train wreck! Awesome though. Pure awesome.

Just seen this and surley anyone can see this was an act set up by the two of them.
