What if Lost is somehow related to the Lost Room miniseries? What if The Event is linked to The Incident? Has the Island been removed from normal space/time in a manner similar to the Motel Room?

With the Island, either the Losties are moving through time relative to the Island (and maybe the outside world) or the Island is moving through time relative to our Losties. That would almost make the room inside out.

The Losties have to be moving through time relative to both the Island and the outside world. The Sun is in the "outside world". When the Losties jump in time, it frequently switches between day and night. Therefore, the Losties are moving through time relative to the outside world. If the Losties were staying in the same timeframe relative to the outside world, and it was just the Island jumping around in time by itself, then the Losties wouldn't see it switch between day and night so suddenly like that......

.....unless the Island was jumping around in both time and space, such that it would actually transport itself from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean, or something like that, but that would be ridiculously contrived.

Maybe Micheal couldn't kill himself because he was an Object!

Or the tendency of Objects to attract each other could be related to how the Losties had such intertwined pasts!

Or the Motel Room is Ben's "magic box"!
