Well in good news, Lostpedia had a link to an article saying that no matter how terrible LOST's ratings will get it is guaranteed to finish its sixth year, that the contracts have already been signed and paid out.

That's good news. I was worried.

Looks like Knight Rider is done though.

LOST typical gets the biggest push from overnights to final numbers from any show and LOST is the biggest DVR/TIVO show in the USA, so the numbers are far better than the inaccurate Nielsen ones would have to believe.

Since Charlie Crews is into cars, maybe they can give him KITT. And they can talk zen to each other.

LOST isn't anywhere close to being canceled, a series low 11 million? That awesome for ABC. Plus ABC has no newer shows and only dead or dieing shows left, so they need to keep things they have as long as possible, and they aren't even doing that.

Yeah, a massive amoutn of people watch it via DVR (myself included).

Personally I love having the rerun as the lead-in. I put it on while I read or nap, refresh my memory, and try to watch the screen as much as possible for the pop-up text that occasionally reveals something they shouldn't have :D I think they're just desperately trying to keep the show accessible to casual viewers. They do clip shows twice a year, and the reruns come with the pop-up text to explain everything to the viewer in a nice simple manor, and then there's the clip show on top of the episode as well. Of course it's obviously not working to bring in new people :p

Nielsen boxes are dumb. There could be 100 million people watching Lost every week and there's no viable way of telling that.

Any true LOST fan will immediately hop on the computer once the episode ends and start theorizing and arguing :D

^ You know I once read a study that said during commercial breaks for lost internet activity on college campuses spikes then returns to normal when the break ends. The same happens for Grey's Anatomy.

I was believing you until you said.... "The same happens for Grey's Anatomy.", then I knew you were lying! What they hell is there to talk about? How lame the show has gotten or the fact all TV shows now a days have to have ghosts?

^ Women still love that show and it is still one of ABC's highest rated shows. The study was in the text for a graduate level marketing course I had to take focusing on advertising.
