The sore losers in the GOP continue to make mountains out of molehills, claiming a jacketless Obama disrespects the office of the president:

As you can see from two pics in the piece above, Bush isn't wearing a jacket in the Oval Office, and neither is George Tenet in the second pic.

What horseshit! Didn't the GOP get the memo: business casual is in! I prefer a more business-like attire at work myself -- can't stand casual Friday -- but if IBM/Big Blue, can relax the dress code, why not the president? Geez!

The ultimate act of irrelevancy is quibbling about matters of style versus substance. Good for a laugh, though! Thanks, guys!

Hopefully no member of the Republican Party will ever visit Japan - their government actively encourages male staff members to leave the suit jackets at home and wear looser fitting clothes so they'll feel cooler and use less power for air conditioning.

Seriously? Don't these people have better things to do?

Maybe Obama's taking off his jacket because he's actually warm from....you know....WORKING.

Geez.

Geez.

Don't count on it.

The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
"He's from Hawaii, O.K.?" said Mr. Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. "He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there."
Nice of him to tell the rest of the country, "time to sacrifice and turn down the thermostat".

I could care less if he goes to work wearing flip-flops, jams, and a concert t-shirt.

My favorite part:

Yes, the same clan who brought us such hits as torture, the Iraq war, Katrina, Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, the outing of a covert CIA agent, the U.S. Attorneys scandal, Jack Abramoff, this wonderful economy, the assault on the middle class, and the defecation on the Constitution and civil rights, is now concerned that not wearing a jacket is disrespectful of the presidency. Got that?

Emphasis is mine.

Rock on, Mutenroshi! :techman: -- RR

I'm honestly starting to believe the GOP is seriously racist.

qft.

That embarrassingly desperate attack line sounds to me like it has a clear racist slant too.

Steele Cleans House at Republican National Committee

As a black man from Maryland, a traditionally Democratic state, Steele has already brought a new face to the party.

Didn't your parents tell you if you keep rolling your eyes like that they may stay in that position? Just saying! -- RR

Guys, TNZ is for controversial political discussion, not Misc.

Take it there.

Thank you.
