What do you think became of Laas the Joy Wonder?

Aquehonga

Fleet Captain
Louse, er, LAAS, went belly up. Bought the farm, keeled over from Sloan's Changeling Link-transmitted Disease.

Laas definitely, you can be certain, caught the affliction from Odo & being unable to get proper medical attention:

ended up kicking daisies:D

Can't say I'm weeping buckets about that.Laas was an annoying, mudstick,self-righteous, belligerent, drip, rude, specist, dork, hostile, irritant, ill-mannered boor:mad:Kid Nausea!

Nasty to Odo's pals without any provocation {sans O'Brien}.And,ironically in Laas the Louse's defense, that Space Caveman dolt with a single digit IQ on the Promenade brought his death on himself.

What do you think happened to the Joy Wonder?

Assuming he bought the farm:techman:, its a pretty small, insignificant Laas:hugegrin:

I think Laas would have found his way into Dominion held space near the end of the war, and thus returned to the Gamma Quadrant on board one of the ships as they went back through the wormhole. He then rejoined the Link.

But then I had none of the problems you seem to have with Laas, so I'm more willing to give him a better send off.

I think it likely he would have tried to head to the Link upon realizing he was ill. Whether he made it or not, we may never know...

In the novels, Laas somehow made his way back to the Great Link either before or after Odo cured them. The Link used him to talk to Odo when the latter was in solid form in lieu of the Female Changeling (as she's in prison).
Much later on, the Founders were devastated by the apparent death of their Progenitor, and the Link dispersed, leaving Odo and Laas in charge of the entire Dominion.

I thought the idea at the end of the episode was that Laas had been given directions or something in order to find his way at least to Dominion space, where likely he'd get to the GL?

I agree with every point Laas made that humans are pieces of crap. It's a shame he didn't have more appearances. It was very refreshing to see him come and tone down Odo's pro-human propaganda inclinations to a more realistic level. In other words, Laas wasn't annoying, he was awesome! And Kira etc. being rude to him only served to prove his points.

I don't think Laas died from the disease. Laas is a highly intelligent and crafty fellow. He would have found a cure on his own, or gone back to Odo to get the cure.

I heard he took the shap of a Indian Tee-Pee and is living in upstate New York as the the Laas of the Mohicans.

But then again, also heard he's performing in a Monkee's tribute group in which he sings, Laas Train to Clarksville
