Ok, I just got it, and started playing immediately, Wow, huge difference from that white xplorer model I've been using. This thing rocks, it doesn't feel cheap in my hands at all. The buttons are so much better and the strum bar is fantastic. But, I must say, the best part of it is how sensative the tilt sensor is for overdrive. no more jerking the hell out of the thing and ending up screwing the song up, just a slight tilt and bam! Overall opinion? Awesome!

Man, I need a lot more Dream Theater DLC stat!! I don't feel like buying GH:WT just for Pull Me Under. I honestly have a hard time going back to any guitar hero game after the awesomeness that is Rock Band. More Dream Theater please.
Of course, it'll be another year before I have 100% Expert on Constant Motion and Panic Attack, but I still want more!
Dear Harmonix, Every song by Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Metallica, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Dream Theatre, Guns'n'Roses (the good one), Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc etc etc PS, I love you...
Well, SingStar Queen is coming to PS2/PS3... So soon those with a PS2/PS3 will be able to sing along their greatest hits... http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/02/03/be-a-singstar-queen-tracklist-revealed/
Three Fratellis tracks were announced today ("Flathead," "Henrietta," and "Creeping Up The Backstairs"). Nothing too exciting, but there's a lot of bitching and moaning on the RB forum about the selection. This past week's DLC was great. I've had fun playing some classic Thin Lizzy. Can't wait to pick up the coming soon wireless P-Bass. I was holding out with the wired version, but they announced the wireless version before I finally cracked. As for the mentions of GHWT - I rented it, played it one night, then sent it back. Despite liking a number of the songs that RB doesn't have (including Wings!), I have no interest in playing that again. We have Lips, and it's fairly fun and simple, but their DLC choices have been sucking really hard lately. I still find myself playing RB far more than any of the other music games.
So, I'm not the only member of Portnoy's message board that posts here I always figured... Speaking of DT, hope the next album is better than the last one. If ever a band needed an editor... Love the guys but...
I just got the "southern rock pack" or Guitar Hero: World Tour. Creedance Clearwater Revival's "Commition", Ram Jam's "Black Betty" and ZZ Top's "Gimme All Your Lovin". Black Betty and Gimme are covers, but they're good covers. Lots of fun playing these tonight.
Falling Into Infinity and Metropolis Pt 2: Scenes From a Memory are still my favs after all these years. BTW, did anyone pick up the DLC this week, the 3 Fratelli tracks? I'm not really a fan of their music so I didn't. Which was nice, I got a week to save some loot. I'm really looking forward to Pearl Jam's "Ten" and SRV's "Texas Flood" So far looking at end of march for Ten and as far as I know, they haven't annouced a date for Texas Flood yet.
I haven't seen a date for Texas Flood, either. But If you preorder the new special edition anniversary release of "Ten" at Best Buy, you'll apparently get three extra Rock Band tracks for PS3 or XBox360: "Brother", "Alive" (Live from the Drop in the Park concert) and "State of Love and Trust" (Live from the Drop in the Park concert). http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat173100050006&type=category&ks=960 Also, the rest of "Chinese Democracy" is on its way, as well. But that's about as exciting as waiting for the light in traffic.
Thanks for the lowdown on the Pearl Jam pre-order, I'll get on top of that, so now I'll have 3 copies of Ten to go with my 4 copies of Vs (regular CD, Digipak CD that was the collectors edition at release, all those many years ago, regular vinyl. and collecters vinyl. Count me as another one who doesn't care about Chinese Democracy. Now, it it were Appetite or one of the Use Your Illusions, sure.
Yeah, I don't give a crap about Chinese Democracy. I don't think that album will sell all that well as DLC. The SRV album - I'm interested in a few tracks from that one, but not the whole thing. Pearl Jam - same thing. Might get a couple of tracks. I bought six full albums last year, but there aren't any announced that I'm all that interested in purchasing when they come out. Still, I have so much variety already, I'll probably welcome the break in spending. I did pick up the Fratellis pack today. Not really a big fan or anything, but I liked the songs enough/thought they'd be fun enough to play, that I added them to the old library.
