Reasons why Aliens ignore us?

I read an article earlier today about reasons why aliens ignore us and have not made contact and it made more sense than all the "Aliens are in cahoots with the govt" crap that is floating around.

In a nutshell the author stated that perhaps aliens have/are observing us, but dont like what they see. They see us are racist, greedy life forms who would treat them badly.

Humans hate each other because of the color of their skin or their ethnic background or religion. How would we treat an alien humanoid race that may be physically similar to us, but has purple or green skin?

Perhaps benevolent aliens want to share technology that will improve the life of all 6 billion of us, but see how certain rich countires, people, corporations, etc treat the resources they have and the aliens know that the technology they give to us will be horded by a certain few so they dont give it.

Or perhaps the aliens are really strange looking. Maybe they look like dolphins with four legs like a horse and wings like an eagle on their backs, but they are more intelligent than us. Would humans actually try to "live with" an animal looking alien instead of trying to hunt it down just to mount its head on our walls?

What do you guys and gals (and any secret aliens among us) think?

They are too busy laughing at us trying to figure out whether they exist or not.

And really, we would be too self absorbed to really care/notice if they were here anyways.

Why do you presume that aliens are altruistic or benevolent? Why does almost everyone do that? We may care if another human gets killed - why should they?

Also, I realize that human relations are contentious but we are not all at each other's throats 24/7. And just as you have violence over perceived differences occur, you also have much more occurrences of mutual cooperation, sharing, love, trade, entertainment, etc.

Maybe if they are advanced, they are cautious for the same reason we are cautious around polar bears or lions at a zoo. Consider the potential for danger for an alien just popping in and not knowing what to expect..

Because they know that the first thing that will happen when they touch down is that our trigger happy armies will attack them without regard for whether they are peaceful or not, and then commandeer their technology for ourselves. Any survivors of our attack would be imprisoned and experimented on. Our species is far too violent, paranoid, and greedy to be able to make contact with another species.

I'm sick of this constant human-bashing. No one EVER brings up the possibility that we're actually the more advanced ones.

So I'll say it: The aliens aren't here because they're still inventing airplanes. I know, radical, but someone had to say it!

And oh yeah - They're more violent than us too!

no, no. I know. It's just that Star Trek usually gives people faith that there's more intelligence than just us out there.

The aliens could just see earth as the ultimate reality TV show that exists just to amuse them. Or they're still trying to find the dominate species on the planet and see if they tastes good.

Could be one in my fish-tank now. They came here not for interspecies contact and scientific exchange, they came here to SUCK OUR AQUARIUM GLASS because it is the most TASTY glass in the universe! Earth is nothing more than a high-tech opium den to them!

...or not. >__>

Aliens ignore Earth because it's infected with Humans.

Plus, half of the Humans will probably be convinced the aliens intend to invade, so want to make a "pre-emptive strike" to wipe them out and probably create a self-fulfilling prophecy yet to be too ignorant to realise they caused it themselves when the aliens retaliate.

The other half will probably think the aliens are Gods and will turn against them the moment they realise the aliens aren't, and yet those people will still blame the aliens for "deceiving" them when in reality they've been deluding themselves.
