The Brave and the Bold vs. The Badlands

I was thinking of starting to read either The Brave and the Bold or The Badlands series shortly.

What are your opinions on these series?

Which should is better/should I read first?

THANKS!

I liked The Badlands. One of the few books I went back to read at least twice, if not three times. Brave and the Bold is very good also, though I think I need to reread it again as I hadn't see that much Trek when it first came out.

I'd give The Brave and the Bold the edge because it has a more interesting theme: getting to know characters and crews who didn't have much time onscreen.

What about if you already own the first The Badlands book? I've had the book for years, but never gotten around to reading it. Would it be worth taking time off from the new books to read them?

Badlands isn't bad, but it's fairly forgettable. Brave and the Bold, particularly the second book, has more energy and punch to it.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Gonna have to go with The Brave and The Bold. Better story IMO and better character development. Badlands isn't a poor read just a bit slow.

How hard to find are the The Brave and the Bold books? I've been meaning to read them ever since I read Diplomatic Implausability a couple years ago.

Well they were released back in 2002 so their only 7 years old I think it should be fairly easy to get a hold of them.

Amazon has used copies of both starting at $0.01

Cool. I might have to see if I can convince my mom to give me a ride to the used book store near us then.

Didn't read "Brave & The Bold", yet, but each story in "Badlands" left me scratching my head and going..."Ah...that's it?"

I like how it was Kirk and McCoy who first named it "The Badlands", though.
