If she's not my favourite character, she's top 2 or 3 for me. It's so awesome that it looks like she's actually going to get something to do this year.

Yeah the Desmond one is probably the topper just because it was so unexpected. Now we expect a mind-frell at each opening.

Yeah, high expectations probably played a part in doing this one in for me.

You can't beat that Mona Lisa smile of hers. She really should have gotten an Emmy nomination in Season 3.

    I voted "excellent" for both.

Holy Crap! That was awesome. I can't wait to see what's next.

I wonder exactly how the Fionnula Flanagan character fits in. I remembered her from her flashback with Desmond, where she seemed to outside of time, just like he was. And why was Locke invisible to the soldiers but not to Sawyer and Juliet?

GOD, I LOVE THIS SHOW! :D

I enjoyed both episode, though for some reason something felt a little off about both, maybe the pacing wasn't quite perfect. I hope the Island doesn't spend too much time jumping around in time, that could get really annoying really fast. All the time jumping made me think of Blink though.

I loved Hurley wearing the I Love Shih Tzus shirt, since I have a Shih Tzu. His recap of the events on the Island to his mom was also hilarious.

So have they learned nothing about opening credits ruining surprises?

I thought the second episode was weak. Well, scratch that. The Hurley stuff was awesome, everything in between that was weak. Don't know how to grade it.

    First ep was great though.

I rated the first hour above average (brilliant opening as always, neat time travel flashes, but could not keep it up) - and the second hour as below average (feels like been there done that, compared to the time travel stuff of the 1st hour).

    Misc notes:
    - Faraday is definitely my new favorite character.
    - At the end when the fire arrows came towards camp, why did a group of what appeared to be 6 people suddenly look like 15-20 as they fled the beach? VERY POOR continuity or editing.

BTW, this show firmly belongs in the Sci-Fi section now. :D

I'm sure they wish they could do no credits. Union rules though. I agree that it's lame but there's no way around it or I'm sure they would have figured out a better solution by now.

^ On 24, if you're a regular who isn't in the episode, your name doesn't appear at the beginning. I don't remember if they left out the names of the two main characters who made surprise appearances for episode three of this season or not.

Life is another show that does that. And for the final season of The West Wing, two of the main actors were removed from the opening if they weren't in the episode, which resulted in an unnatural gap without credits during the opening credits montage.

I don't know anything regarding the circumstances surrounding those shows, but in a podcast last year someone asked Damon and Carlton why Harold Perrineau's name was in the credits for seven episodes prior to his apprearance, thus spoiling the surprise.

It was a combination of Mr. Perrineau's deal and also some union rules. They'd much rather have kept it totally off the radar along with other spoilery credits. So, if 24 was able to cut a special deal, good for them. But ABC and the producers of Lost clearly haven't been able to. Apparently not for lack of trying.

I just checked episode three of 24. Two main characters were left out of the credits so their appearances would be a surprise, even though they're in the majority of the episode.

On the other end, during season two they had someone's name in the opening credits and she didn't appear until the final seconds, ruining her surprise return.

Would having Ethan meet Locke before they crashed on the island screw anything up? He did, after all, infiltrate the camp and found out who everyone was.

Maybe they should've had it been Goodwin since he only met the Tailies. Of course, Locke never met him so he couldn't have said what he said either.

End credits? Lots of shows put the guest stars at the end, not the beginning.

Anyway, it's easy enough not to read the credits.

Ditto, that was still an all time amazement because in no way was anyone expecting that.

Meanwhile these episodes are fully sic. Lost is back, I can't wait til next week. Frakkin' awesome.

I definitely did not think that Locke was invisible to the Dharma soldiers. He just used his jungle cunning to ambush them.

The whispers being time-slipping people? Fascinating. I never thought of that before. That could definitely work. Though the whispers almost always preceded the Others appearing (as recently as the S4 finale when they ambushed somebody).

The number one question I have now is how long do we have to wait before we see the characters running around with the Dharma Initiative, infiltrating their works and whatnot. Hopefully soon!

Above average for both. It's been so long since I've seen Lost that it was a struggle to remember who some people were and what was going on. I undoubtedly missed a few things because of that. Overall, I like the new feel of the series. It's really very different now. De facto time travel occuring and what feels like a smaller and smaller portion actually occruing on the island. That works ok for me, but I wonder how the general public will react, particularly to the more and more prominent sci fi aspects.

So, we've got a timer in place for them to get back to the island. I just hope not too much screen time is wasted trying to get the O6 together. That could be a bit tedious. Oh, here's Hurley but oh, now he's in jail. Etc. We'll see. Mostly good though!
