Ideally, you post those things because you want feedback on them, otherwise what's the point? You want to communicate with others and share your preferences and experiences, and often times get advice.
You on the other hand claim to want the opposite, yet still post on the forum, and then chastise people who try and engage you in a dialogue. You post things that you have to know will draw a sympathetic or questioning response, and then alienate the people who show concern or provide advice. It's all very passive-aggressive.
For a guy who allegedly wants to be left alone, you seem to do an outstanding job of knowing exactly what to say to make yourself the center of attention in numerous threads, this and the previous one being no exception.

And there are just as many threads where you just answer the question and move on. I don't see how this particular thread is any different to a avatar contest poll thread where you say how you voted. People don't post in those for advice on how to vote better next time, do they ? People don't post in the latest purchases thread because they want advice on the things they have already bought.
Some things require discussion, some don't.
You are asking the wrong person here. You should be asking ThankQ why he started this thread. Or you could ask The God Thing why he posted the same thing I did in the other thread.
For the umpteen millionth time - the question was asked, I answered it. You give me too much credit if you think there is more to it than that or if you think this is all part of some mad scheme to turn this place in to HermiodBBS.
This thread is about people who have no friends answering the question.
If you want to post in a thread "What would you advise to people who have no friends" then maybe you should start one.
You are writing false concern, you are actually being aggressive and overly critical.
At my kid's school a few years back I noticed a nasty little tactic. The kids would run over and bother some kid giving them really aggressive hugs and not leaving them alone. If the kid told them to stop or complained to a teacher, the aggressor would say "I was just giving him a hug!"
It was a way to bully but still have a get out of jail card handy.
You of course have a right to an opinion, but if some says "Leave me alone" then leave them alone, or else you are just proving their point.
If you have something to say about the positives of making and having friends and some helpful advise, then you have the option of making a general comment without quoting anyone.
In case you hadn't noticed, he asked me a question as well (several actually, previously and in the post you just quoted), which I was responding to.
You're smart enough to know that the questions in the post I quoted were rhetorical, included to make a point, and not requesting an answer. Which makes you come across now as squirming. ("But I was just hugging him?") It still looks like schoolyard baiting and bullying to me.
Yes, I did, just as the OP asked a question which I responded to and just as others have asked questions related to those responses, which, again, I answered.

I have a lot of friends, but as I work with them a part of me doesn't really consider them as much friends as colleagues or associates. When I started writing for the company I ended up keeping a professional distance so as not to play favourites.
Ideally I'd prefer to make non-wrestling friends, but as it's 90% of my life at the moment it's had to break out of that cycle.

I thought I'd just chime in a bit myself here.
I understand there are a lot of people out there with no friends, real-life or otherwise. Maybe they'd want to continue like this, preferring to work alone without distractions. Personally, if that's their preference then that's fine with me, and I wouldn't impose anything on them.
But there are a lot of other people without friends who actually feel lonely inside, and whose lifestyles are, for want of a better word, suboptimal, both subjectively and objectively. The definition of "friend" can vary, from someone who's there to keep company, to someone to whom one can confide many things, to someone with whom you can share your best experiences and memories together, and all the little things in-between, the highs and lows. Finding new friends can be a struggle at the best of times, very difficult at times. Me, I don't have permanent friends due to the nature of my work, but I do have work colleagues whom I consider as friends, and with whom I'd be happy to invite to dinner or go out for a meal or to the cinema etc. I also consider my next door neighbours as friends, especially as people whom I can depend on and vice versa.
And if worst comes to the worst for those looking for friends... look no further than, well, this here BBS.
