The Dream Box and Masks by Andrew J. Robinson

thirteenth

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
Does anyone know anything about the stage play The Dream Box? Like has the play been transcripted somewhere? And also, anyone remember in the 'About the Authour' part of Prophecy and Change for Andrew J. Robinson notes that he was working on an autobiography called Masks? Also, I know basically what The Dream Box is about, but I just can't find it anywhere.. I mean legally found ways of course..

Thank you...

If the script has ever been sold officially, I would LOVE to get hold of a copy! Mr. Robinson is quite the talented writer and any more of his stuff formally published could only be a good thing. :)

Not wanting to go off subject but.. A stitch in time was a good book but the way it is talked about on the forums, you would think it was a masterpiece.

I find it a little overrated. The hype of it kind made for a let down when I read it.

Not to continue dragging the topic...off...but I am definitly an AJR gusher.

And A Stich in Time was excellent.

It was co-written by Alexander Siddig and, IIRC, when Pocket approached Andy about adapting it as a prose entry for the "Prophecy and Change" short story omnibus, he preferred that it remain a play in the memories of those who saw it at conventions - and he wrote a short story that built upon a few threads from that play, and his previous novel, instead.

So, he had the chance to publish it and chose not to.

Aaagh! The man's even being enigmatic when he's HIMSELF! :cardie:

I hope maybe he'll change his mind someday, maybe after several years have passed since those who saw it would have it fresh in their minds, and many new fans would never have had the chance.

Just a shot in the dark, but I'm guessing you haven't been able to find it by illegal means either...? Otherwise why would you be posting? You're simply playing with our emotions here!

Nope...

Anyway, thanks everyone for their responses, I wish it would be published, and PaulSimpson, could you please, if possible, reply to this thread if Sid does say anything about The Dream Box?

Enigmatic? AJR?

Maybe he should have been the next "Number 6" instead of Mr. Cavaziel(sp.?)?

Obviously possible...but just as with a statement from AJR, I'd have to see it to know for sure.

 Ahh Nerys, you crack me up! :) But yeah, hopefully he'll change his mind...

Siddig is on my list of interviewees for the mag for this year - I've made a note to ask whoever does the interview to look into this...

Paul

That is very cool of you!

I must say, I like ASiT, its not my favourite, but it was well done. I just found it sometimes got a bit tricky since there are a lot of characters to keep track of, some with multiple names. I guess in retrospect I should've made a list... maybe I will, and then reread it. It was an interesting take on his character.

:bolian:

Then I can go hunting in Chapters for the issue... :p
Nah, it'll be fine now that I know where they are...
