Yeah, but how much art is there worth looking at in Marvel books now? Not much that I know of. I just got the latest Marvel Previews yesterday and there's maybe two or three pages with art that I don't find ugly.I'd be just as happy if all they did was publish the art, unmarred by dialogue or captions - that's what I like most in comics, anyway. Give me Adam Hughes, Art Adams, Terry Dodson, Frank Cho and Alan Davis, and I'm happy.![]()
I'm not familiar with Terry Dodson, but Art Adams and Frank Cho are both excellent. But they're the exception these days: Really good artists with instantly recognizable individual styles (and, actually, both are pretty old school now).Terry Dodson - Uncanny X-Men
Art Adams/Frank Cho - Hulk (currently with the Red Hulk)
Not only is it hard to keep track, but it's hard to know why to bother. I look through Previews and I think, for the most part, "Who the hell are these guys?" Maybe it's just because I've lost so much interest because of the declining quality, but it seems like most of these books are written and drawn by people hired from a temp agency.Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to track and keep up with artists and writers, to know where they are from month to month, without either looking at all the books or picking up a copy of Preview; for instance, I have no idea what Adam Hughes and Alan Davis are currently working on, and one can't even get this info from most of the artists' websites. And I'm not such a die-hard collector (for reasons already started) that I even know where to find this information easily.
Hank has never said that.
In fact they gave him a mind scan a couple issues later to see if he was under some sort of influence, and he's always been incredibly guilty and autoflagilating on the matter.
I was thinking about Jan's other prominent boyfriends.
Paladin, the Black Knight and MAGNETO...
I can only dream of Magneto saying "I didn't really want to destroy a world that had Janet VanDyne in it. I was just teasing the last few times I tried to destroy the planet and enslave humanity. But now that she's gone, all bets are off, and the gloves too, because I'm going to sink my teeth into humanity's jugular and play jump rope with it's wind pipe."
Find me a woman in 616 who Tony Stark hasn't used to prop himself up against?
I have this vague memory of Frank Miller trying to pair up Spider-Man and the Wasp in the early 80s... But I don't know what to make of it?
Yes, Eric and Janet had a dirty naked weekend in during the secret wars, I do recall a panel where we saw one or both of them dressed in nothing but a sheet.
A few months later back in the regular Avengers title, the exact quote was "Yuck! What was I thinking?!"
