They should just re-make the original Toy Story; a darker, grittier film for the post 9-11 21st century.

I think The Incredibles has sequel potential.
I've not seen Cars so no comment there.

Again, as long as the core gang at Pixar — John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, Brad Bird, et. al. — are in charge, I trust that if they're putting out Cars 2, it's because they think it's as good a story as the first one.
I think the complaint is that the story in the first one wasn't that great.
I love the Toy Story series(and pretty much anything Pixar) I see no reason not to make it. Infact I am looking forward to it.
Oddly I don't like The Incredibles, the animation I didn't care for at all, plus I don't like super hero movies, besides Batman.
Which is absurd. Cars was solid.
I don't have much to add to this thread, but I too believe that Pixar won't push crap on us.
A few years ago, I remember the day the shit hit the fan when it was announced that Disney was going ahead and making TS3. I can vaguely recall the outrage on this board, even.
Times have changed, and I'm open to pretty much anything that Disney Animation's doing.

The next one, Up, doesn't look that good.
I think Pixar may be losing their touch...but having said that -- I'd like to see another Toy Story film and wouldn't mind a Cars sequel either.
Pixar's animation is still excellent. Where they are losing it is in the writing department. To me, the recent storys/characters just aren't that compelling.

I agree with them making an Incredibles 2...as for Cars? I liked it, but I agree it just doesn't need a follow-up. As for TOY STORY 3? I would only support this idea if the same folks who made 1 and 2 were to make #3....

I wonder how many people are going to scream about Lightning's "new" paint job in the sequel, even though he's had it since the end of the first film (and "Mater and the Ghostlight," which is garbage but still "canon.")
As for Toy Story 3, I'm not a great fan of the idea, but we'll see. The last film "ended" the storyline very neatly for me even though both films left opportunities for sequels.

I could see a story where the kids are teenagers and rebellious.
No desire to see Wall-E? Deprive yourself if you must but I just saw it last week-and I think it is a spectacular movie. Visually haunting at times, silly enough for kids but interesting enough to entertain adults-and, IMO, a far more successful effort than CARS. On the other hand-if you didn't like The Incredibles its possible your tastes are far and away from mine. *shrug* Wall-E is still worth the time, though.
QuasarVM I did see Wall*E and found it quaint. Yes the visuals are well done. There is even a story that gains some traction in the second act and moves fairly well into the thrid act until its conclusion. However, it is as solidly a kids movie as Pixar has done. What unerlying themes are there for adults are socio-political and not satire or funny wink-wink type adult humor. I could've fallen asleep for the first 30 minutes.

You could say that about the Dark Knight and the year before Transformers.
Wall-E is one of my favorite films because it is simply a beautifully crafted movie. They didn't get any big voice actors, they didn't try to sell out with hip-hop music or the new age artists. It was a simple but effective movie that had a lot of touch and heart.
I agree you could make the overhyped and overpraised claim for TDK. I liked it but find that its praise elements are worthy. I think they hype factor clearly was Ledgers last full performance and that was overly done.
