20 Foods

If you had to limit you diet to just 20 basic foods for the rest of your life what 20 foods would you choose. By 20 foods I don't mean things like pizza or hamburgers instead you have to list the ingredients to make those (for hamburger - ground beef, bread rolls, cheese, tomato etc).

I read that when asked this question most people come up with a reasonably balanced diet so feel free to comment on whether other people's diets are balanced and if they are not what is missing from the diet.

My 20 foods are

Chicken
Scallops
Lamb
Strawberries
Bananas
Apricots
Peas
Onions
Tomatoes
Pak choi
Plain yogurt
Soy and linseed bread
Plain Couscous
Cheese
Muesli
Puff pastry
Olive oil
Sweet chili sauce
Chocolate
Coca cola

EDITED TO ADD - To remove carrots and replace them with bananas.

Why to moisturise the bread of course!

What other reason would I want it?

Hugo - ;)

Not really sure but with all that alcohol in you I thought you might come up with something more creative that moistened bread.

Sadly, even when drunk I'm pretty dull and with a singular mind... drink, drink, drink... little bit of great bread and oil to throw into the stomach to keep it churning.

Bread is one of the great, GREAT foodstuffs when treated with care and attention. Comforting and invigourating too. Vastly under-rated IMO and olive oil can be as interesting as great wine. One of the most interesting tasting sessions I took part in whilst in the Wine industry was a central Italian olive oil tasting. 100 different oils from different sites, terroirs, with differing styles, richness levels and complexity.

Utterly fascinating, but very hard work.
