I love you Mommy

Should Saavik have had Spock's baby?

  • Are you kidding? The writers could have done so MUCH with this!!

So Spock, just barely a teenager, has to have sex with a hot chic..OR..he will die. That would be one heck of a line to use a the local pup. "Hey babe, if I don't have sex with you, right now, the world will crumble apart and we will all die"

I thought that she should have ended up pregnant and had Spock's "Bastard" child. It would have been a perfect set up for a new character in TNG's time line..IMO...

Something is wrong with you.

Something is wrong with me, too, because I can see what you're saying. ;)

Although, if Vulcans have enough control over their bodies that they can will themselves to die, she probably could have just not become pregnant.

There were times when I was a teenage boy that I felt exactly the same way.

Unfortunately, no girls back then accomidated me...but the world, nonetheless, went on.

I think I remember reading somewhere that a pregnancy was supposed to be the reason why Saavik stays on Vulcan.
Can someone confirm that I did I imagine that?

Tough call. So much lost opportunity to bring Saavik back in a later film or even the TNG era. But nope. Too much soap opera crap.

Well they did bring Robin Curtis back for The Gambit......does that count??? ;)
That episode occasioned one of the times I have been the most irritable while watching Star Trek. My friends and I had made it to the second part, and right in the middle of it, one of them says, "you guys do realize that's Robin Curtis, right?" No, you sonuvabirch, I had NOT! Thank you so much for ruining my suspension of disbelief!

And apparently, he ruined it permanently. I'm almost never able to enjoy anything on TV since then without thinking about the actors, dammit.

Well that sucks.

Close enough I guess. At least that TNG two-parter didn't have any long-winded paternity suits.

Well, I was once a fan of soaps, specifically General Hospital (Hence my screen name)..so, I am all for Soap Opera antics..in fact, DS9 to me, was just a big soap opera...overlaping storylines AND characters....they did it good..

Yes, that was mentioned either in the comics or books or both.

What STAR TREK VI needed was a vengeful Saavik come to wreak vengeance on Spock and the Enterprise-A crew for leaving her on Vulcan with a bunch of puritanical, chaste elders and priests.
