Pinkle's Art

Pinkle

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
I can't post images yet, but I just wanted to share my drawings with you guys. :) (yes, I'm a furry, please no degrading remarks :( this is all in good fun!)

My latest favorite, Lt. M'Ress in memory of Majel:

Inked with micron pen and colored with prismacolor markers. I have to admit, I doctored it up in photoshop a little. You can't really tell with the actual picture, but when scanned it really brings out the marker strokes...

My character Amanda Volpino buried in Tribbles! This was just a doodle..

Here's a link to my gallery if you'd like to see more! ^_^ I don't think there's anything on my DeviantArt that isn't on my FA account..

I also have Silent Hill and Half-Life fan art...they're my other obsessions hehe.

You don't have to worry about the degrading remarks, I hope. You're not the only one here. You have excellent technique, and the Tribble commissions are just bloody adorable.

Nice work. You've captured M'Ress well.

I don't think there are any anti-furries here, at least that I've noticed, and I've been around a while.

If you like furries and Trek, let me recommend Trek Wars- The Furry Conflict, It's Star Trek Vs. Star Wars, with fur, and they've actually gone out of their way to make it believable.

I can't see any of your stuff. I get the following error:

Fur Affinity

They won't load for me either from your links or in your gallery.

That's weird :confused: maybe the site messed up for a bit or something? They work fine for me! ;_;

I think it's because FurAffinity's server crapped itself again, only a matter of months after they laid out thousands of dollars of new hardware to fix things after the last time this happened.

I fixed the image links so they go to the page URLs - they seem to work now (the originals didn't for me, either)

The first two return the "access forbidden" message quoted above, but the link to the gallery page is working for me, and it's possible to click on the images that way.

Yeah, FA tends to crap itself a lot haha :p

Anyway, I just had hoped to bring something a little more...organic to this particular forum....I looked at the threads before I posted and they were all technical stuff like ships and no character art! :)

Since it was Fur Affinity, I reasoned I'd better not try accessing it from work lest I trigger some content alarms on our firewall, but I did check it out when I returned home last night.

I saw the same tribute portrait a few days ago at Deviant Art. And I must say you've done a fantastic interpretation, even more appealing than most of the official shots from the animated series itself. I really wish FA had a "character field" search function so one can locate the items one wants. I'd use it to track down all the M'Ress selections posted there.

Odd, as long as the character has existed, 35+ years now, one would think there'd be more fan art of her. I knew of an Atlanta based illustrator, Jerry Collins, who used to attend the area SF conventions and would auction pin-ups of M'Ress, sometimes "hangin'" with Uhura, during off duty hours, but I've never seen digital copies of these works. If Collins ever made any archival copies before selling the originals, he's kept them carefully under wraps, never posting them.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the selections! Guys here can tell you I am one unrepentent M'Ress obsessed nut! ;)

Sincerely,

Bill
