Tell us about your presents!

My bf and I opened our gifts to each other last Friday, before he left for his parents' house. He got me the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD, with the original theatrical versions. Not the 1996 release, and not the more recent bastardization - the original.

I got him the recently released "Absolute Sandman" set, the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman. Leather covers, slipcases... fancy. He loved it.

I'm not seeing my parents until Saturday, so I'll find out what they've gotten me then. (Last year it was 36 pairs of socks. I'm not exaggerating.)

Got one "gift" from my Mother in Law, at hubby's family "White Trash" Christmas get-together (not that I'm judgmental or anything).

She handed me a piece of paper she'd torn off a roll of wrapping paper--and on the back, she'd written, "I Owe You One Gift Card."

She said, "I was going to go get it yesterday, but I just couldn't be bothered."

Gee....thanks.......

Well, off the MY family Christmas. Merry Christmas, everyone!

 Were they wrapped individually? Did you have to pretend to be delightfully surprised each time?

 No, though that's something my paternal grandmother might have done. (One year, when I was about 14 or 15, because I hadn't asked for anything specific, she wrapped up an empty box and gave it to me.)

Oh, and last year I also got about 20 pairs of underwear. And to make things worse, they were all briefs.

This was my big, early present:

I got it a month early!

Other than that, my mom picked out a few things from my wish list to open on Christmas Day- cross stitching and beading stuff, computer accessories, and a new purse that I picked out.

*Dramatically removes glasses*

My God! She owns all of us.

That sucks so bad that you have every right to be judgmental!

Did you douse her in cheap brandy and set her alight? No? There's still time...

Well, off the MY family Christmas. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Hope you get some better prezzies! :)

The one early christmas present I got... a miniature wire christmas tree that my mom shipped to me. I have no decorations since I moved, and she felt bad that my apartment would have no holiday cheer.

My best friend also gave me some art supplies, a sweater and a Toronto Maple Leafs long sleeve t-shirt. She's trying to convert me, but it's not likely to happen.

I got:

- a New York (historical photos) monthly calendar
- a Dilbert daily calendar
- a bunch of gift cards (Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, Best Buy)
- Some VERY delicious pears  - giftbox from Harry & David
- Popcorn
- Sweaters

I'm thinking it could be quite funny to wrap up the ingredients for the christmas dinner. I've been amusing myself intermittently with that thought for a couple of hours now. :)

I just got a "basket" of treats (brownies, gingerbread cookies and frosted sugar cookies). I had Mom put the brownies and sugar cookies in the big freezer since we have enough sugar in the house already.

So far,

a $100 bill
Stargate Continuum
Stargate The Ark of Truth
Star Trek Original Crew first 6 DVD collection
Star Trek First Contact
Banana bread and some fudge

I got a GPS, four new suits, and I still have one more gift that I was told I have to wait until tomorrow to open up.

So far I received....

Black Coach Purse
Brady Quinn jersey
Six gift cards
14k opal earrings

There will be more gifts on Saturday when I do my family's Christmas.

From my parents:
Cash
Postage stamps
Tropic Thunder
MST3K: 20th Anniversary Edition
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for Wii

From fiancee:
Ottoman
Wallet

I got some clothes, which I cant really get myself, I got some cash which is awesome.

Also, most importantly, I got a Zach Stortini Sudbury Wolves jersey from my rents :D

I'm anticipating another sweater tomorrow.

From work I got $25, boatloads of chocolate, and a bottle of Yellow Tail wine.

No presents this year...though I did indulge in getting a refurbished HD dongle for the computer to watch/record local TV on the laptop as well as some cables and connectors to try and get my home theatre up to where I want it.

But that's it...besides a "secret Santa" thing at the office Christmas party and a co-worker putting a $50 bill in a Christmas card to me (I've helped her earn THOUSANDS since the summer, so I didn't regret accepting it), no big holiday "take" for me this year.
