Went to work yesterday and this woman who knows I love DW and SF says to me,

"Oh have you heard who they cast as the new companion? That comedian woman who has that crappy sketch show!!!"

Without a trace of irony or taking the piss.

She was also doing the same thing most of you did eighteen months ago with that whole, "and she's going to suck because of who she is" deal.

I was like, "Yeah, she was great, she's gone now and anybody with three brain cells to rub together really misses her because not only was she one of the best companions ever, she was one of THE BEST actresses to EVER appear in DW".

Yes - in a nutshell after Trial of a Time Lord John Nathan-Turner (the producer) was basically told they could have a 24th season, as long as they get shot of Baker.

IIRC this is all covered in the 'Trials and Tribulations' extra on the Trial of a Time Lord DVD...

Hey guys, did you all hear they're doing a telemovie? Sylvester McCoy will be in it, but reports I read indicated he's going to regenerate near the beginning.

Also, this is rumoured to be an American co-production. I have my doubts if that'll work out.
