Well, it was cold, the guys were throwing stones, and he was probably stunned when he broke his leg

So you gf didn't want you to bail him out or it seems for the drug taking car stealer to stay in her house yet you dismiss her wishes. If it was me I'd have found someone else for him to stay, maybe go back to my house and stay with him there.
So you chase after them to hurt them and you are surprised that they throw rocks at you? What did you think they would do? Stop and let you attack them because they suddenly realise that throwing rocks at doors is not only lame but also not very nice.
Only if the guys were throwing boulders at the house would they have been at risk. Or if the rocks were on fire.

Yeah, we've had a few incidents like that before... it's reached a point where some of us just close our eyes, hum very loudly, and pretend that his few poetic moments are actually his poetic moments and not someone elses.
