Game developer Free Radical goes down

Yeah its a shame that tehy went under, thought they haven't been that great of a developer in years. As a matter of fact, they were in their prime back went hey were part of Rare, making Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. Once they seperated they started to slowly lose their luster over time. I guess Haze was the disaster that did them in

I thought Timesplitters 2 was incredible - by far the best FPS on a console. It took everything that was great about GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, but did it better. On top of that, the whole setting and theme was just plain FUN.

Timesplitters 3 had a weaker campaign mode, but its multiplayer was even better than Timesplitters 2.

It's sad when a company dies - especially in this manner, where they lock everyone out of the office - but I dunno... they must have realized that there were some problems with Haze.

Timesplitters 2 & 3 are great, second sight was really good but Haze was complete crap. Still a shame about FR. I was speaking to former co-workers at another UK developer and they are worried about their jobs :(

Also Factor 5 (rouge squadron games) have closed also EA have closed black box studios.

Its true that Timesplitters 2 had a decent multiplayer mode, but it really wasnt all that different from Perfect Dark's and even lacked some of the options and flexability that could be found in perfect Darks multiplayer. At the same time tis single player was weaker than both perfect dark and Golden Eyes. I would hardly call it the best first person shooter on consoles.
