TV & Media Av Contest: Christmas Movies!

First off, thanks for the votes in the last contest.

For this week's contest, I decided to get into the holiday spirit, especially since a lot of us may be away next week.
This week, it's all about Christmas Movies and Christmas specials (No single episodes from a TV series, though). There's tons of them:It's a Wonderful Life, The Bishops Wife, The Santa Clause, Polar Express, Rudolph, The Grinch, etc. Even a movie that just heavily features Christmas in some way, as long as your av reflects that.

I don't consider movies about Santa to be Fantasy because he's real, damn it! Although, I will exclude Santa vs. the Martians because of the obvious SF element. Well, that, and the fact that it's horrifyingly bad.

I'll try to get the poll up Friday night.

I'm so tempted to just enter the same avatar from last week's contest - Die Hard is, after all, my top Xmas movie!

Er....is it a significant scene that involves Christmas, or just a throw-away line? If the latter, then no. I'll take Die Hard, though, since it features Christmas in the background throughout the film.

Actually the character is called Christmas...

Don't want to use the same Die Hard entry as last week though... Will have to find something else.

At least unless I miraculously find a decent pic of the OHMSS shot I want (which *is* set at Xmas, with the presents actually part of the plot!)

I think you should open it up to include Christmas episodes of shows so we have a greater variety of stuff to draw from.

Huh? There's a dozen Rankin-Bass TV Specials plus at least 50 movies that I can think of, right off the top of my head. That should be enough.

I haven't seen Charlie Brown, but the Rudolph special was pretty bad. I've found that, having grown up in the 90s, I have a very low tolerance for the low-quality animation used for budgetary reasons from sometime in the 50s to the mid-late 80s. (I actually first started growing up with Superman, Casper, Felix the Cat, Betty Boop, and Popeye cartoons from the 30s and 40s, which tended to be very fluidly - and sometimes prettily - animated. I didn't see modern cartoons with any regularity until the 90s proper.)

...none of which are easy to find avatars from.

Isn't the point of the whole thing to make avatars?

I mean avatar images. I don't think I've once used a found avatar.
