TV Guide's best shows of 2008

No love for The Big Bang Theory. The list was obviously compiled by philistines.

On the one hand, Dexter and Lost are fairly high up on the list, and The Office and Galactica belonged somewhere on there as well.

On the other hand... there's most of the rest of the list.

How in the world did True Blood get on there? :|
Oh yeah, hick vampires and a fairy girl named Sookie.

Happy to see How I met your Mother sitting at the top of the list. It was a show "on the bubble" at the end of every season, and almost didn't come back after season 2, and after season 3.

It's been a great show from the start, and glad to see it finally getting recognized, both by things like this and much higher ratings this year :)

I'm surprised that How I Met Your Mother is on there but not the superior (or at the very least equal) Big Bang Theory.

And I actually do think that Project Runway is a great show.

I don't think that Gossip Girls, SNL, Battlestar Galactica, or Pushing Daisies should be on the list. But I don't care too much because most of the shows I love are on the list already (Lost, The Office). The only shows I really think should have been included are Big Bang Theory and Brothers and Sisters.

There's no sense in anyone getting riled over this list. These are never created with an eye towards definitively naming "the best". It's simply to get people talking and nothing more. I do have one question .... are there any other shows on this list besides "Pushing Daisies" which are being forced to end their run early?

Other than True Blood, BSG and Lost, I'm gonna have to call straight up bullshit on that list. That is all.

Oh yeah if we're going to count the nightly shows I would absolutely put Colbert Report very high on the list, and Daily Show somewhere below it. I love me some Colbert.

Life, Burn Notice and Eli Stone. Those crazy boys over at Comedy Central who feed us our news. And, where's Damages? That was a heck of a show

Damages didn't air in 2008; the second season starts on January 7th, and I'm looking forward to that very much. :)
[btw. Eli Stone sucks ass imo]

And you're allowed to have that opinion-but I like quirky and Stone is nothing if not that.

Quite pleased that BSG, Supernatural, Lost and True Blood are on the list. Annoyed that Jericho is not, but I didn't expect it to be.
