Guys, let's talk about your balls for a sac, uh...sec.

I had a vasectomy in February of this year. It was a decision made based on my then soon-to-be wife's medical condition that if she was to get pregnant that she would most likely die and the baby would never come to term. We had two doctors tell us the same thing....getting pregnant would be easy but the aftermath would be life threatening.

After many discussions and prayers, I decided to have the procedure done. I checked and my insurance covered the surgery. We discussed it with both of our families and while some were concerned they understood (my mother in law was the most concerned). Also, my wife and I were virgins when we married....just to let everyone know.

So, two months before we married, I had the procedure. With only one exception, I felt absolutely no pain. The one exception was when part of my testicle was not numbed as much as it should have been. But, the recovery was different for me. The swelling did not go down as quickly as normal and I had to take a full week off from work. I had the surgery on Friday and attempted to go back on Tuesday but was sent back home immediately and the doctor said that different people react differently.

By Thursday, I was doing better and was able to do my first masturbation (I had to masturbate at least 25 before turning in a sample) without much pain. It only took about three times and it felt totally normal again.

I agree about the jock strap. Have it with you to put on immediately before leaving the doctor's office. Actually because of the medication, the nurse placed the jock strap on me. Also, go commando and wear very loose fitting pants. I wore jogging pants which was perfect as I got home to go to bed I did not have much prep time. Also, make sure that you have someone to drive you home after the procedure (and make sure that they do not have a camera to take pictures of you).

With all office costs, medication, and the actual procedure, I was out $57 total after insurance paid the rest. I will say that it is worth it TOTALLY as my wife and I do not worry about her getting pregnant. As for if I ever get remarried, well unless my wife dies, there is no getting remarried. If the unthinkable happens, my next possible wife would HAVE to understand the situation or it would be a no-go.

I hope that this information helped. I had tons of questions before I had mine.

Babaganoosh has a tendency to respond without thinking things through sometimes, and by pointing out the absurdity of the situation my goal is to try and make him understand how unnecessary it is for him to get a vasectomy at this point in time, just as I did in the two paragraphs before that you omitted where I answered him more seriously.

Oh, you were helping him understand! Right. And your humour was a form of kindness. I see. I shall leave you to your saintly activities. How silly of me to think he was a target for your fun.

Speaking of saintly activities, how's it going with getting offended on everyone's behalf? Martyrdom working out for you?

Why do you even bother replying to my posts? All you ever end up doing is whining about how I shouldn't talk to you and alleged old grudges, even though you're the one who always initiates the exchange. I'm perfectly content with never saying anything to you. In fact I think that's what I'll do here with my last post on your little tangent. Bye.

Right.

Now you know what it's like to be on the receiving end of what you do to others. ;)

As to vasectomies, if you know for a fact you do not want, or for some reason are incapable of supporting another child, I think it's a sensible idea. There are too many unwanted/neglected children as it is to risk bringing more into this world.
