Cast each other's fanfic characters?

I don't usually foray into casting others' characters(I have enough trouble casting some of my own), but Stephen Moyer (HBO's True Blood) would make a good Pava Lar'ragos, I think.

Wow, great suggestion! Sadly, I gave up my HBO subscription just before Trueblood and Generation Kill came out... which saddens me greatly. However, I did catch an episode of Trueblood while staying at a hotel recently. Stephen Moyer does a fantastic suave-creepy look that I have to admit is very Lar'ragos.

The eyes, man... it's all in the eyes.

Much better picture than the one I found. :) The more I think about it, the more Moyer seems absolutely perfect as Pava. I've seen all the True Blood episodes, and not only does Moyer have the perfect look, there's a great similarity in personality between Bill Compton and Pava. Genteel on the outside... yet there's no doubt that something darker lurks beneath.

For those familiar with any of my work(been a while since I posted any of it) I cast Sean Bean as my main character, Captain Kieran Forester. Jeremy Irons and Kiefer Sutherland also recieved consideration at various points, but Irons is too old, and Sutherland lost out simply because I'd thought of Bean as Kieran for so long at that point that no other actor seemed quite right for the part. ;)
Good choice with Sean Bean. He's been a favorite of mine since the early 90's, when I first ran across him in the Richard Sharpe movies. In fact, in one story, I've got Lar'ragos singing a few lines of Over the Hills and Far Away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fy3tSim3to

Bean's been a favorite of mine ever since seeing him in Goldeneye as Alec Trevelyan. Another point in Bean's favor is the fact that he's played a lot of villainous characters, and played them well. Not that Kieran is a villainous character himself, of course, but he has a flawed, almost dark side to him that I think Bean would portray very well, judging from his performance as such characters as Trevelyan and Boromir in LOTR.

I've wanted to see the Sharpe movies for a while myself, so I could see Sean in a starring protagonist role. :)

I'm interested to see who people think could "play" my characters, based on the minimal descriptions (if any) I've given and personalities.

But no one seems interested...

But think about it. You already posted a cast list for it, didn't you? Nobody's gone out of their way to try and cast mine or captcalhoun's either. Most people here seem to be interested in casting stories not already cast, where the author doesn't already have people in mind.

I've never posted a cast list, not really thought about doing so till now.

Are you sure? Because I could swear in one of your posts a while back you included some photoshopped pics of a few stars you'd like to see portray your characters. I think you picked Catherine Zeta-Jones for your captain.

Now I know you're on something. I don't do photoshop, way out of my league, and before this thread and manipulation one popped up I wouldn't have had a clue about getting shopped pics of folks to play my crew. And CZJ is definitely not someone I would pick to play Astar.

I suppose Lena Headey (with straight hair) or Julia Ormond (the way she looks in CSI:NY) could play Astar...Someone wanna let me see that?

Nope. Just mistaken I guess.

Okay...

mirandafave--While I don't think the appearance is ANYTHING close...I imagine MacGregor's delivery sounding like Greg Gutfield.

I'm kind of ambivalent towards the actual show...parts are hilarious, other parts are embarrassingly crass.

Here are a couple examples of "funny"...not to mention dead-on (especially the one about how people act on the Internet). Use discretion playing them at work:

And a couple examples of "crass" (warning--these are NOT work-safe, especially not the last one!):

I would cast Patrick Stewart as Picard in my Shuffle the Deck series...and maybe find Ghidora, the three headed monster, cut two of his heads off, shrink him down, and use him to film mutiple shots of Thravals..

OK...I know it's been a LONG time since I first started this thread, but now that I've picked up Supermax as another series I'm reading, I've got a casting choice I've GOT to share.

In my mind, Gul Vornak ("Death-Head") has got a most definite actor in my mind...but I'm going to reach WAY back in the past for this one.

How about Lon Chaney?
