The new Earth-2

A beaker full of death

So let me see if I have this right...

Earth-2 is back, and is exactly the same as it was pre-Crisis. The people who survived its destruction in the first place -- the late Kal-L, the late Lois, the original Flash, the original Green Lantern and Power Girl -- are basically leftover duplicates from its first incarnation.

We know that Earth-2's Alan Scott died sometime. But are there now two Jay Garricks?

And I don't even want to touch the relationship of orphan Powergirl to Supergirl.

I wouldn't even bother trying to make sense of it - Wildcat also remembers earth-2 (or at least did during the events of infinite crisis).

There is an Earth-2 now, outside of the 52 Multiverse, but where and how it came from hasn't been explained in Justice Society yet.

Time, however, has slowed significantly there; when Gog sent "our" Power Girl there, the year on Earth-2 was probably about 1988 at most. The Justice Society and Infinity Inc. have merged to become one group, the Justice Society Infinity.

There's an interesting character development on Earth-2 that's revealed in JSA Annual #1 that makes a lot of sense, if you're familiar with Earth-2 continuity.

For the record, Jerry Ordway draws a fantastic Helena Wayne. :)

Just as Legion of Three Worlds features an adult Legion that never went through Crisis (so they didn't become Giffen's "Five Years Later" Legion), Justice Society showed us an Earth-2 that likewise never went through Crisis. It started... but something happened and interrupted it.

I thought it was about the TV show too, because lets face it, Earth two came back during infinite vrisis which was around three years ago... The little blonde girl form Earth two died a couple years back from some horrible disease. It's all detailed on her imdb listing.

FUCK!!!!

I thought it was about the show.

That sucks.

So do I til I opened the thread. As luck would have it, I am aware of the subject matter. Haven't read 52 yet though.

Anybody here recommend it?

It's shit.

so much doesn't happen treally slowly.

A blind man can figure out what these peoples endgames are in the 7 or so stories they're telling across the DCU but the writers have no sense of pacing, since they've never hads to write anything so huge so quickly, that they blow their telegraphed loads too early but just when you think that it's all over they have to add four giant gized issues and call it "52 presents WWIV" because they screwed their pacing the other way too and ran out of pages at the end because they had too much story to tell.

The art is inconstant and terrible at the best of times and... It was a painful experience handing out 7 doallrs a week for this dross.

I enjoyed the 52 comic but I read it in trade form all at once rather than weekly. The art is definitely not the strongest of course, but I found the focus on C-List characters to be interesting. I liked the way it felt like a season of a tv show.

Just stop it DC. Stop it! Nobody gives a shit that Power Girl is really Earth 3's Superman's Daughter from A Negative Energy Universe's Alternative Reality Mary Marvel Cloned from The Phantom Zone's Blue Sun Version of Lois Lane Cousin's Sister's Uncle's Former Roommate. Nobody gives a shit! Are your characters really that predictable and boring that you have to this stuff constantly? It's all this Multiverse crap is the reason Marvel hasn't revamped their continuity ever, because it would open the box into crap like this.
