Terminator (4) Salvation sneak peak trailer

Episode I is an extremely enteraining movie. Sure it's suicide to say that around here but that because hyperbole is king around here. Personally I think TPM is not an apt comparison anyway because it's come and gone and is an unqualified success despite opinions around here.

A more apt comparison would be the overpraising of the T4 trailer compared to the overbashing of the Star Trek trailer. I mean we've seen little of either movie but with Star Trek we're getting "It sucks!". With T4 we're getting: "It rocks!"

We haven't even seen either movie and King Hyperbole has already passed his judgement on these summer juggernauts.

Also, I wonder if they will stay true to T1 when Reece said the first terminators had rubber skin. And remember the terminator from Reece's dream was definitely not Arnold.

The Terminator from Reese's dream in T1 was another T-800.

The T-600 series will be seen. It does have rubber skin.

I didn't realize Jonathan Nolan was the writer. That really boosts my enthusiasm/optimism for this movie.

Why? McG isn't actually a proven director. Anything has the chance to fail. I'm not entirely convinced that this movie will be good, but it has Christian Bale and a script by Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight, The Prestige) so I have some hope.

Because of the awesome footage in the bits of the trailer

An awesome trailer does not always equal an awesome film. Case in point: Star Wars: Episode I had an awesome trailer. Not so awesome film.

I like Star Wars Episode I

So I should not look forward to th star trek remake......because it is directed by jj Abraham's? Can't stand the director

I think there is something that everyone can agree on. Regardless on whether we liked certain movies or not. Is that enjoyment of trailers does not necessarily mean you are going to enjoy the actual movies. Which is stating the obvious. Its easy to please various types of fans with trailers. Because they only show quick images and not actual scenes. Which people can interpret any way they choice.

In my opinion way to many trailers in the past have been awesome and then when the subsequent movie comes out, the movie disappoints.

You have to remember that normally trailers are the work of slick marketers and PR people and it is a lot easier to parse a torrid movie for about 5 or six great scenes, slap a nice theme song on it, add some CG, voice work and then run that for 30 secs, and have it come out looking ok. It is an entirely different thing for the movie to hold up for an additional 2 hours.

However, with that said, I am cautiously optimistic about this movie. As a huge terminator fan regardless of the early word of mouth, I will be in line at 1201 midnight to see this movie as soon as it comes out. I just hope it is worth the missed sleep.

OMFG was that a Transformer?!?!

Awesome.

The Terminator shown in the final frames of the promo trailer is called a Harvester. It is a new unit (similar to the Ogre from TSCC) designed to capture humans and take them to Skynet work camps.

That reminds me of the Sentinels from X-men, the giant robots who catch mutants

And its about 8ft tall. Thanks for forgeting that fact Reese!

Simple - it's a new timeline. The future that he grew up learning about is no longer - Judgment Day occurred on a different day, the nature of Skynet is different et al. Nothing that was part of the concrete future is, well, concrete anymore.

Its an ok trailer. I'll definitely see the movie, but I'm not excited for it. Its ages since I saw T1 and T2. I didn't like T3 but I love The Sarah Connor Chronicles. To me that series is Terminator at the moment, and this film feels almost like a usurper (note, that is fanboy hyperbole, I don't actually care whether its made or not, its just not the Terminator I'm interested in right now.)

Exactly. There are currently four distinct timelines for the War Against the Machines.

1.) Original Timeline (The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day)
2.) Rise of the Machines Timeline
3.) Salvation Timeline
4.) The Sarah Connor Chronicles Timeline

Totally, like so totally full of awesome awesomeness that is more awesome than any of the total and complete awesomeness I've ever laid my awesome eyes on. Awesome.

AWESOME!!!

It is not the whole trailer yet
