best Romulan..EVER

Caroline Seymour's Commander from TNGs 'Face of the Enemy' comes in second after Lenard's definitive protrayal. Her distrust of the Tal'Shiar and devotion to the Praetor was a believable conflict of interest for a Romulan.
I would have liked to have seen her a few more times messing with the Sisko perhaps.

Have to give my vote to Vreenak, he was the classic Romulan. Arrogent, Suspicious, Condensending, Rude, and even when he complements Sisko, it's a back handed one. Finally he probably had the best Romulan line in Trek... IT'S A FAAAAAAAKE!!!

He even sounded a bit like Kirks famous line....KAAAAAAAHN :)

For those that mentioned Sela.. with all respect... what are you smoking? That character is a trite and condescending nod to the viewer and she almost singlehandedly destroyed Unification all by herself. She did destroy Redemption by herself!

Jarok, Vreenak, those are my two favorites. Tomalak always seemed a bit too over-the-top as Romulans go.

Marc Alaimo made an interesting Romulan, briefly, in "The Neutral Zone."

Yep. Blecch. I couldn't stand Crosby as Yar and triple that for Sela.

Quite clearly the best is me (and props to the four people who have said that).

Actually, I'm going with the Romulan Commander from Balance of Terror as well. Really cool dude.

Sela's a good concept for a character but it was cheesy of them to cast Crosby in the role, as though children are ever clones of their parents.

Yes loved her. Good actress and a really three dimensional character. Would have loved to see her on DS9 too.

Actually, part of my problem was that she wasn't close to a clone of her parent. Aside from (lack of) acting skills, they had nothing in common. If they hadn't had Tasha killed off or they had tried to play on the survivors of the Enterprise C as a storyline, there might have been some interesting plot potential. But, as it stood, it was just an excuse to have Denise Crosby in a role where any other Romulan could have played (except for the cliffhanger for Redemption).

Someone remind me - did modern Romuleans have the head bump thing from their first appearance in TNG or does that come later?

Ambassador Tomelak was okay too.. I guess. (Even though he is really a Narn)

What? Tomalak is a Romulan captain. He was only an ambassador in that holodeck simulation!

I'm throught with charade! ;)

Overall I'd go with Tomalak, R.I.P. Andreas Katsulas.

TOS: I dunno...Mark Lenard is too much Sarek to me.
Movies: Dina Meyer, I guess
TNG era: Tomalak

Worst one was the one next to Marc Alaimo (who was a decent Rommie) in "The Neutral Zone"
"We agree to share information...but only on this subject...and only if it's convenient for us at the time...and only if you buy us dinner, at a good place...not fast food...and only if we get to pick the restuarant...and which table..."
