Arrested Development movie is a GO!

I hope there is no moment akin to the blind guide dog jumping head first into the vets bin...

'Cos if there were it would mean I'd miss the rest of the film due to excessive-laughter and waste £8

I had to pause the dvd of that episode for about 15 minutes before I could return to it, and then whilst watching subsequent episodes that night I had to continually press pause as the image of that poor dog nosediving himself into the medical waste ran through my brain.

Just. Mind. Blowing. Genius.

Physical comedy at its very best

Hugo - Excuse me, do these effectively hide my thunder?

This is going to be awesome, but I must say, I'd rather have some more seasons of the show because the movie is only going to be 2 hours long.

Heh...I caught the interview with Bateman last night on the REELZ! Channel and was going to post about it but got distracted by a shiny object or something. So Hurwitz and Opie Cunningham are definitely on board.

That's golden...I wonder which cast members are passing on it? (He seemed to suggest there were a couple with other committments, etc.)

Michael Cera did not seem interested in an interview

Well, if Cera is afraid of typecasting, it's not like his other work is helping on that front anyway.:p

No shit...he's made a career out of transferring George Michael Bluth to other pieces of work! Hurwitz should sue his ass!

Exactly

I dunno. I've seen clips of him when he's not in character and he's still exactly like that. If anything, Hurwitz exploited his natural personality to make the character far funnier than he probably was on the page.

BTW, random tidbit: I met a woman yesterday who claimed to be Jason Bateman's half-cousin.

Yeah, the show could have gone on for many more years, it is just so funny

If the movie is successful, could they bring it back as a series again? Even though it wasn't a movie, Family Guy was brought back after a long hiatus and more popularity.

The show is dead, the movie won't do well, if it does there will be more movies.

And if Michael Cera isn't in the movie I will find him and kick his ass, shouldn't be that hard, he's a wacko. As others have said he is just every character he has even played.

I can sympathize with Cera. Basically every interview I've seen where he's asked about the movie, he says he's skeptical because he'd like the show to end on a high note. And he'd hate to disappoint fans with a shitty movie.

I think he'll wait to see a script. And hopefully it'll be a good one. I'd prefer a good Arrested Development movie in an ideal world, but barring that, I'd rather have no movie than a shitty one.

I have high hopes though. The writers on the show were top notch.

Oh come now! It's way too soon to speculate on how bad or how good this project will be. Let's just do a little chicken dance to celebrate right now. :)

This reminds me of Dead Like Me. They made a DVD movie and was said if the movie did well the show could return. It was doubtful but it was out there.

The movie was finished late summer of 2007, it was hugely rushed. it was supposed to come out near Comic Con in June or July of this year, it didn't. It seems the movie is so terribly bad that it might never get released. Better to leave things alone then to come back with terrible stories... aka Futurama "movies".
