I lost 8 lbs. this last month!

Rÿcher

Fleet Captain
And I attribute it to my new migraine medicine.

On it, I've not had any appetite whatsoever and when I do eat, my portions are tiny.

I don't know about any of you but when I've not eaten much in a while, my stomach capacity shrinks and I find that I can't eat as much as I could have the week previously. It's like that.

YET, my BP is somewhat elevated. Today it was 134/100 so the doc put me on a beta blocker. Ain't no thing. gotta quit smoking and cut out the soda.

Yay for me!

Congrats on the weight loss. My advice is that you try and keep your portions the same from now on whether or not you're taking the medicine. That would help you keep off the weight you lost. The same thing happened to me a few months ago when I had the flu for a couple of weeks. It decreased how much I ate, and I stuck with it.

Definetley cut the soda, I cut it a couple months ago and haven't looked back. It was diet soda, but the chemicals therein are just as bad as the high dose of sugar in the regular.
I also lost around 10# in around 6 weeks.

For BP, first and foremost cut salt. Anything salty is the enemy, which is almost all prepackaged processed foods. But you can begin by just never adding salt to anything, and don't use it in cooking. Use herbs and such instead.

Congrats! Just make sure you're going about it in a healthy way and that you are still eating enough and getting your proper nutrition.

You may have also lost lean body mass weight which will lower your basal metabolic rate. Lower BMR, you'll store more fat and possibly get it all back. If you want to maintain I recommend the four components of aerobics, strength training, nutrition and rest (7-8 hours). This raises your BMR, increases energy conversion to muscle, lowers your Body Fat Ratio (fat to muscle), and is sustainable.

Good luck!

I made some videos about going from fat to fit:

Yay for you! :) Congrats!! Just keep at it!! And don't yo-yo diet. That's worse than anything. I have lost a couple of pounds but that is because my stomach is queezy and it's hard keeping anything down at the moment. I hope I'm not getting sick! I did an experiment. The other day, I went to the store and bought a bag of sweets, came home and ate them..the next morning I had gained like two-three pounds JUST from eating that! Then I laid off of it for a couple of days, and my weight went down again. ;) Plus the walking 30-45 minutes per day really helps my blood pressure. :)

I'm actually trying to gain a few pounds at the moment. What with a fairly hectic time personally recently and then getting ill over the last few dasy, I've lost a bit of weight and need to put it back on. 4 or 5 pounds or so should do it. Luckily, Christmas is coming up! :)

Thank you. It's the persistently high alcohol level in my system that gives me a certain piquancy. ;)
